Nicely run in now then. :)

Welcome back, good to hear that Betty performed well  .

Hope the new arrival settles in well and will not eat anything to valuable, my shepherd was a rescue and 18 months old so past the chewing stage, only stole 2 croissants and 3 crumpets and 2 slices of frozen bread :D.

Welcome back old lad. did you find Mimi le Bong(k) en france?

Glad to see Betty performed well. I have been out playing in the snow up here too!You no doubt been up there looking for a phantom bong(k).Don`t get terrain like this down in Norfolk and Good!

Warley Moor road Wainstalls Halifax following heavy snow still drifting in a strong wind a week last Monday 1000+ feet up between Halifax and Oxenhope, a 6 mile stretch of little used track type road only ever used as a shortcut, never ploughed and part of it is un surfaced and pot holed. Only visited by off roaders and courting couples. With no discernable tyre tracks and a lorry stuck due to dashboard Doris with brother in law as co pilot (they who must be obeyed refused to come with us!!) 10 inches of snow drifting to 3ft.

Two 60+ idiots in a Yeti came across two struggling Land Rovers and Nissan but Yorkie sailed on never slipping, up and down with the technology working a treat but the big difference the tyres, gather USA police fit these!

The lorry was there for 3 days and featured on local BBC news.Must have ignored the road closed sign too!!

Yeti + 4 wheel drive + Eagle GW3 Ultragrip + 2 idiots one driving really steadily.....am az ing.

... of trouble free journey to the French Alps and back. Just returned from two weeks skiing. Betty the Yeti loaded up with bags, skiboots, four pairs of skis, and whatever clutter the present Mrs Bobdog insists on taking with her. Set off from Norfolk with a blizzard blowing, along unsalted/ungritted country lanes, no worries with the 4 Seasons and the 4x4, before hitting the A140 and the A11 south. Reached the tunnel safely then blatted across France to Nuits St George where a goodly sample of the local produce was had before continuing to Villaroger. Loads of fresh snow during the two weeks - brilliant for skiing and no problems getting around the mountain roads even when the snow had not been cleared. Home today, via Swindon where we collected our new puppy (our old dog sadly died last August) and brought him safely home. Yeti awesome as always - comfortable, economical, reliable, fun ... and now approaching 50k miles in total.

Welcome back Bobdog, glad betty, you & Mrs B got home safe and sound.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your trust dog last August and I'm sure the new puppy will bring LOADS of fun for you both (as well as the odd mess now and again :giggle:)

Sounds an ideal way to get through a couple of weeks in the wintertime.

Welcome back bob, sounds quite an adventure, any pics of Betty in action?

Welcome back, Bob.

Glad you had a good time,

The corner's a bit cobwebby.

Sorry to hear about Murphy.

Nice of you to tidy it up for me. Is there any of Martin's beer left?

... the present Mrs Bobdog

You planning on changing her soon?

Glad you had a good trip.

She's lasted rather longer than any of the previous three, and I think there are a few miles left in her yet. Not sure about some of the more recent models - all appear a bit too much high maintenance. I don't think they build them like they used to.

And the clever programming means they guess what you're up to before you even get a chance to try it ...

No...I cleaned it out!

Welcome back bob, glad you had an uneventful trip, driving wise.

Plenty of snow in France. Other drivers spent ages digging their cars out of the snow. I got a big broom, brushed off the top and windows and just drove away. Later that day, after I'd returned and parked, looking out from the chalet, I saw a number of blokes going for a walk round and peering through Betty's windows.

I did encounter one small problem. You know how the rear bumper dips in towards the hatchback door, and how rainwater tends to gather there a little? Well so does snow, and in the really freezing conditions it formed a solid ridge just high enough to make it impossible to open the hatch, and it was bloody hard work to scrape it away.

I'd forgotten about some of the joys of puppy ownership until this morning - such as that exquisite barely awake moment when you put your bare foot into a pile of warm poo. :S

Could have been a cold one
