Main Beam Bulbs: What have you got?

Featured Replies

Osram Nightbreaker Plus is what I'm currently using for the dipped beam.

However, I am seriously unimpressed with them. They offer virtually no more light than standard IMO.

I'll be going Xenon and projectors when I've sorted other things on the car first....

Lucas standards . I did try fancy ones once when my first dip went. they lasted a lot less than the lamp I changed ,and both went to gether . Touch wood, I've had them in for a good length of time with no problems ,and light output is excellent ( OH-I get therm at a decent price from petrol place round the corner)

Whatever it left the factory with in '99 :D

Ds2 in Bi xenons.

Really want a pair of Osram xenark bulbs for mine so I get even

more light output but at well over £100 for the pair it can wait until

one of the current ones packs up.

That's a chuffing lot of money for a bloody pair of bulbs.

Thanks mate.

................................................................ I have H7R HID's in 4300k. :bandit: Until i have enough money to upgrade to some ebay projector headlights they are staying put lol.

Please please pleeeease everone can we not make this about the legalities of headlights? :@

I used to have some Ring Rally Sport 80 watts in my dipped headlamps before I change to the Depo projectors which were brilliant. The one thing I've noticed since changing over to HID projectors is that although the give fantastic light output within the beam pattern, they have almost no bleed over. Which means anything reflective outside of the beam pattern does not get reflected back. To give you an example of what I mean on some roads I could see the cats eyes disappearing into the distance, but now because there is no bleed over I must switch the main beam on to see the same thing.

Don't be put off by the above, but it does make a difference to how you will use you lights, I find I now have to use the main beam more often than before.
