OEM Skoda Octavia diffuser

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just interested to know if the OEM Skoda Octavia rear diffuser available as an accessory would fit a facelift vRS estate and what exactly is required to fit it.

One of my only critisms of the vRS estate is that its not much to look at from behind; the lack of a tailgate spoiler and no diffuser (compared to the Fabia vRS) makes it a bit dull in my opinion.

Also does the tailgate spoiler fit? Guess that needs paintinf and bolting to the car though?

If I can get the diffuser trade price and get a friend to fit it something I may do at some point as looking to keep my Blackline longer term but if it doesnt fit ill stop looking....dont want any superskoda business on it!

IIRC the accessory diffuser does not fit the vRS bumper. Bit bizarre (given I'd guess that the peeps most keen on this sort of mod would be vRS owners..!) but that was the answer I got when I asked the question.

Brimma and Stamsaas have the tailgate spoiler - it is bonded on IIRC and yes you'd need to get it painted first.

HTH.

Thanks Rob_e, annoying as I thought it'd look good too. Would only consider sticking on an OEM accessory so thats that idea blown. Tailgate spoiler would look nice but not sure I want to go to the trouble and expense of fitting that now

your only hope for a diffuser would be Superskoda, although god help you if its not right (as I found out)

The diffuser doesn't fit properly on the vrs as above. The boot spoiler I have fitted to my estate is the oem one. Comes unpainted and requires bonding on which when done fits perfect. Hope that helps a bit

Skoda's one does not fit. Currently have one on order that "should" fit will update once it arrives

i thought skoda had discontinued the spoiler when it didnt fit the facelift? least thats what they told me when I tried to order one.

Yeh, that was my understanding too. IIRC the gap between the end of the roof and top of tailgate is smaller on facelifts and although spoiler can be fitted, it catches on roof when tailgate is opened.

Sarge.

Ive noticed a few ex demo vRS estates (mainly Simpsons Skoda) that seem to have the OEM roof spoiler but what appears to be a diffuser too; does look nice but assuming its superskoda and not an OEM part? Also not sold on the front splitter theyve fitted, a bit too big.

Hi M12 MKD is the diffuser youve ordered a genuine Skoda part? If you go for it would appreciate part nos costs and a pic of what it looks like on the car as I also have a white combi

not my car, but here is a superskoda sourced rear diffusor......

Yeah thanks for that JR RS, I have seen this over on the OZ VW forum and given Im not one for modded cars it is very nice indeed.

I assume it is just bonded on and the old towing eye cover removed and replaced by the one supplied with the diffuser?

One of the reasons Im considering doing something like this is that my Blackline came from the factory with a slight deviation along the bottom skirt of the rear bumper around the tow bar cutout; a combination of how it was moulded, bolted to the car and accentuated I think by the bright white paintwork. Its certainly not the only white estate like it and I know its not something Skoda will do anything about under warranty (as there is technically nothing wrong with it) but I basically have OCD and am looking for a way to cover it up. Would have a dual purpose of making the rear end a bit meaner too as done with the Fabia vRS out of the factory.

I'd be interested to see how you get on if you go ahead with this..

:)

i have the Skoda estate rear spoiler fitted to my face lift and it works fine no catching at all

I also have the Skoda diffuser fitted but it doesn't fit 100 percent right. It doesn't bother me particularly (until threads like this make me think about it) it breaks the mass of colour at the back end up

Could you chuck a couple of pics up of the rear end? Want to see how well the OEM diffuser fits the car. In what way does it not fit correctly?

Magic62 BT stuff is nice but dont want carbon effect.....also dont want to spend 400 euros on a piece of plastic i then need to get fitted :-)

Anyone fitted a superskoda RS+ one themselves? Other than cost and poor delivery times any other issues with the product itself?
