It's arrived at the dealer!

Featured Replies

Had a telephone call from the dealer to say the car had arrived if I wanted to go and look at it. So I did. Who wouldn't? It's a Greenline II Elegance in Magic Black.

It's still wrapped in plastic and in need of a good wash but is looking quite smart. The boot was full of bits and pieces including the umbrella! Delivery is on March 1st and I really can't wait.

Looks lovely.

Didn't expect to see the green coloured bonnet/ boot badges.

The little boot spoiler looks the biz too.

Roll on Friday, eh!!!

Cool man. We pick our Superb II Combi on friday also. It's been sat there a while, but I'm being a reg tart and waiting. Awesome cars. I would of rather had the twindoor myself than the combi.

Thanks guys.

I know cloning can be a problem but you only have to visit any Skoda dealer to take your pick of reg plates (its also registered to the company and not my home address). Thanks for the manual link, looks like I have some bedtime reading tonight.

The 0% VAT offer on diesel twin backs was a saving not to be missed. It would probably have been unaffordable without the huge 20% discount. I'm sure you'll love your combi. What colour is waiting for you? (0% VAT also available on petrol combis).

Apparently the new Skoda badge will be used later in the year when the superb gets a face lift. Till then it's the green badges. I think I'd like to change them though.

looks the business and always loved the superb in black as my brother has a 12 plate 1.6 tdi s spec in black too and it looks very nice, looks weird on a 13 plate, but i have not seen one yet, and there was me all chuffed about having a January 62 plate :D i also got the 20% discount and it does bring the price down a good bit, and i hate the new badges, the green ones are better in my opinion but won't be long now until it's with you, and by the way, how has it got its regie plates on already? when i went to see mine it hadn't got any plates on it and had white wrapping over the top of it, and dont think the new superb is coming till 2015?

The car's been at the dealer since last Friday (7 days ago) so they've already done some prep by the time I took these photos today. The reg number was allocated to the car by the dealer from a list assigned to it by DVLA. I had to sign a DVLA "Confirmation of Registration Form" and job done! No doubt you'll be able to register a car by mobile phone app in years to come!

I've seen some pictures of a facelift Superb (just front are rear light tweaks and a dashboard update) thought it was imminent hence the current VAT offer?

I notice that my car doesn't have the green leaf logo on the front wings and I wonder why? I'm not bothered if they don't apply them but I wonder if its a further part of car prep yet to come or they no longer fit them? Any ideas?

i seen mine about 1 week and a bit after it arrived at henrys glasgow, but wasn't picking it up for another 3 weeks so gave them plenty of time to get it ready and was amazed when the salesman opened the doors and it looked beautiful and thought to my self "this car is to nice to go on as a taxi" but it is now, here is a pic when i went down to see mine a few weeks before collection and can't belive that it's a month already since i picked it up, time flies when your having fun

I'm looking forward to the room. Today my wife and I have been shopping with one of our daughters and two young grandsons in car seats in my wife's Renault Megane! No room at all. I was squashed against the steering wheel to avoid being kicked in the back and the rear bench didn't look a comfortable place to be either. How different it would have been if we'd have had the Superb.

I'm sure some people are surprised I've picked the Skoda for my company car, but I think they'll be more surprised when they sample it. Hope so.

I recently got 66mpg in my Greenline over a 200 mile trip including lots of A road traffic.

So is it here?

Thanks for asking. Yes it's in my hands now and I already love it. Only been pottering about today but I've done 70 miles and averaged 54 to the gallon. Very pleased. Very comfortable and quite striking in its gleaming black paint. Now the task is keeping it clean!

Looks brill, what do you think of the power output with the 1.6TDI? MPG is doing good and the engine is only running in so that will get better over time, as i said before love the superb in black and would have got one myself but it blends into the darkness at nighttime and it is a bit unsafe in my opinion, but here is to the new cars and many happy miles :D

It's quicker than it ought to be with only 105 bhp. Had a little squirt of the right pedal and my wife and I were quite impressed. I suppose it depends what you want a car like this for. This engine saves me £70 a month in BIK yet I still have all the other benefits of the Superb.

Interesting what you say about black. With daytime running lights and night time zenons anyone should see the car coming, hopefully!

yes i thought this to in my 1.6 tdi, when i drove it out of the dealers nearly sending myself and my son through the windscreen through the process of pressing the brand new brakes, i was very surprised at the speed of it, and yes i have a phobia of black cars at night from some angles you can't see the light so it is harder to see and i don't like small grey cars either as they blend in with the road surface at daytime and i have nearly been caught out by this at roundabouts

Was speaking to my brother today, he has a 12 plate black superb 1.6 TDI S spec and was telling him about my worries of black cars at night, he said he has never had any problems with it, must just be me then here is a pic of his superb

The car looks very nice and the shine is also good, I had a shot of his earlier on last year and couldn't believe the punch of the 1.6 TDI and that convinced me to myself one and glad i did

Hand washing the car with care and not taking her to a drive through car wash or anywhere where they don't look after there cleaning equipment will help massively in not just keeping her clean but also scratch free.

They look great clean too. Step-father's car and mate's taxi.

Is it just me, or do cars always feel to drive better when they're clean? And if you vac them, well that gives at least another 20bhp! Am I daft? Or does anyone else feel it too?

A clean car is supposed to be more efficient (barely noticeable really) cutting through the air as there's less drag on the vehicle as the air passes over and around it. But it could also be the placibo effect in that you think because it's clean it'll go faster.

If you don't get a lot of time or aren't able to do it as often as you'd like, put a good sealant on and simply give it a good shampoo from time to time to maintain the sealant.

yep my car gets hoovered every 2nd Sunday and always feels more newer and fresher, how is your superb and your first week impressions?
