low mileage furby :)

Featured Replies

I thought this was amusing so I'm posting ;)

I convinced my father to buy a Fabia Elegance many moons ago (well 3 years to be honest), he basically ticked EVERY option on the sheet and at the time was the top spec Furby as the VRS wasnt out at the time.

Its just approaching the end of the manufacturers warranty and its got 7,300 miles on it, can anyone on here beat that ;)

I've had my VRS for 9 months and i'm on 6,300, so i'm nearly caught up and my car will only end up being a 8,000 mile a year car!

Trouble for him when selling will be convincing people its genuine!!! He had a Peogeot 205 GLD before, C reg, was about 15 years old and he sold it with 19k on the clock!!!

As long as he has had it service every year then the proof would be in the service book.

Looks like yours will be a low mileage fabia vRS aswell ;)

Low miles isn't considered to be good nowadays.

To be that low it would have had lots of very short journeys where it would not have warmed up properly and also possubly long periods of standing.

i part ex'd my seicento yday after doin 37k in one and half years, the fabia i got has done 18k in 5years

Have to agree there. But I'm guess if it's been service yearly and not ragged from cold it should be that bad.

Personally I'd buy a high mileage car if I did little mileage as it would make more sense, I think :o

he could have just used it to do a few long journeys and walked locally :P

My wife has a 53 plate Corsa which has only got 1600 miles on it from new, she is only learning and does have proper lessons too so hence the mileage, I think I put most of them on LOL.

well he leaves it in the garage and gets it out twice a week to a). go shopping and B). drive to my sisters place.

I personally think he's doing more damage to it by labouring the engine than ragging it, he's an old school diesel freak and changes up FAR too quick.

I reckon the tyres will disintegrate before they wear out.

Its probably not even properly worn in and never will be, the engine is the 1.9 TDi PD105 I think, so you're probably right, its doing it more harm than good.

Whereas my VRS gets used every day and will be a low/med mileage and wont be left to rot!

I bought a D reg ( 19 Yr old ) VW Jetta, had 45K miles on the clock, when brought home - Does that count ?

I've just been looking at a car for my girlfriend a 51 with 10,000 miles. Mines done that in 9 months.

My dad does around 60,000 miles a year and so get a new company car every 3 months or so (around 15,000 miles). Doesn't work out to badly as they get registered 3 months before he gets them so they end up with 15,000 miles on a 6month old car. These are ideal if you are then going to do very few miles, my neighbour bought one of his old ones a year or so ago.

60k a year, thats crazy!

My cousin has aquired the use of one of his parents cars, they have owned the car from brand new and are the first keeper, the car....... A 1985 (B reg) Renault 11, the car has recently passed 75K miles on the clock. Thats around 3K per year.

A colleague at work has just persauded a relative that its about time he gave up driving. He is in his ninties. The car is a one owner K reg (thats the 1972 K) Mini with 53000 miles on the clock.

My Fabia is at 25,000 miles and I have had it for 3 1/2 years, not a huge milage but I have no where to put a huge milage on it. My work is 3 miles away, the City centre I take the train, and the countryside twistees are only 4 miles away!

My mum's last car sold with just 36K on it in 8 years. When it had an accident at 6 years low milage made Direct Line repair it rather than write it off. It sold for a big amount, I think we only lost

:D Next door elderly lady has an 8 year old Fiesta. It's done 3,200 miles and is now on its seventh clutch. She doesn't like changing gear so speeds up and slows down by keeping the car in 2nd gear and pushing the clutch up and down. Will make a good used buy for someone!

Ive got 35K after 10 months, and loving every minute of it. Changed jobs now though so do very low mileage, boo! :thumbdwn:

My Mum has 19k on her '00 Golf 1.6SE. I inherited a Vauxhall Nova from my Grandfather that had 37k on it after 8 years. He bought it at 3 years old with 30k on it and then did 7k in the next 5 years.
