skoda yeti

Featured Replies

Hi I'm new and just trying to get some advice about the Yeti and whether or not to get one.

Presently driving a VW Touran, need an automatic, petrol, spare tyre, was hoping for sunroof but think this won't be possible unless buying new, which I don't think I'll be doing.

Was hoping to find out how much they cost to fill up and best place to buy?

There seem to be a number of models and it's a bit confusing.

Any info. appreciated.

Welcome gillycat. Now you've said "hello", I'd suggest copying/pasting this question over in the Yeti section, you'll quickly be bombarded with a variety of suggestions.

From someone who has recently ordered a new Yeti (& now awaits it's arrival impatiently) my unscientific observations are that:

a.) Right now is a good time to buy new. 1st dealer I went to pretty much matched the broker deals without insisting on a prolonged 'dealer-dance'

b.) However, there are not many 2nd hand bargains to be had at the moment. A few days loitering around the forum, though, suggests that there are quite a few of the 'original' owners now trading up - perhaps there will be much more choice in 2-3 months when all their new cars turn up??

Welcome,

There will be a little bit of forum movement in the coming weeks, hopefully nothing to drastic ;)

As to best place to buy, depends on your location, we have two main Skoda dealers in the UK, Sheffield; Bickertons, ask for Tony, and in London; Preston Motors ask for Lee. These two alone will do all they can to get you the right deal and a little extra.

After that it's your local dealer, have a look at it and see what it's like.

Thanks Colin

I went to the local dealer yesterday to test drive one and was virtually ignored and kept waiting for so long I walked out, I was furious. The manager called today and is bringing the car to me................so will give it a go then start calling round, it's just knowing which model is right for me, I will most likely be getting a used one.

Will give those 2 dealerships you mention a try.

Thanks again.

Hi Gillycat,and welcome.

The Yeti 1.2 petrol DSG (auto) is very popular on this forum.

You might have a lot of trouble finding one with the panoramic roof ,as it wasn't available for quite a long time.

Secondhand prices are very high,so do consider buying new.

You will be able to spec your sunroof as well and there are some good finance packages, free servicing ,etc.

Hi Bilun

Yes just test driven one, drove really well, so much smoother than my Touran.

Will wait to hear what my local dealership can offer!

Thanks

Hi Gillycat,

We replaced our seven year old Touran with a Yeti. Decided to buy new so we could get the options we wanted (Automatic, heated front screen, rear parking sensors etc). We have the 2 litre diesel and it's very nippy and cruises well. The interior is a bit smaller then the Touran but enough space for 2 kids and dog and of course being based on VW the controls are the same.

Which 2 litre diesel are you referring to; the 110, 140 or 170tdi? :)

His car description says it's a 4x4 2.0TDi DSG ,so it must be the 140.
