Rear wiper

Featured Replies

Problem my rear wiper seized on I want to

Change to polo one any help to get it off .

I've tried screw driver ??

It's a 10mm nut iirc, needs prised off carefully with a screwdriver once the nut is off.

plenty of wd40 ....

be careful when prising as you dont want to damage screen

when i did mine i left the wiper blade on the arm and let it fall back on to the screen the shock was enough that the arm then fell on to the floor

if you grease the shaft then it wont stick again if you need to take it off again ...

If it looks like it's not going to move?

Wiper Arm Removal Tool which is about £15

or Heated rear window because of oops ££££

Mine is stuck on too! Even a wiper removal tool wouldn't do it, it ended up breaking way looks like brass shaft where the water comes from!

Use an open ended spanner to lever it off - you spread the pressure equally around the base of the wiper arm.

I've encountered this a few times when changing to Aero wipers.

I always leave the nut on a few threads and gently bang the wiper arm a couple of inches from the base. That is normally enough to release the base of the arm from the wiper spindle. I've never broken anything yet.

Good luck.

I had to use my pullers from work

Protect the glass and pour very hot water over it. The plastic expands before the metal gets hot and a good wiggle should loosen it.
