Fitting Bluetooth Quadlock behind the head unit on VRS

Featured Replies

Hi there i have also just retro-fitted bluetooth,, if you remove the top box where the hazzard light swich is you can move the quadlock over to the left where there is space beside the glovebox.. hope this helps..

Is there a good place to prize the top box off from? i.e. directly under vents, lower corners or from top of dash? Just dont want to damage anything for the sake of asking a question from the guys that have been there.

Virtual Beer coming your way as a thanks.

As a final note (I hope), Is it easier to install from the drivers side or the passenger side? I'm not fussed where it goes but the path of least pain is my preffered route, even if it takes a little bit longer to get there.

Mine is installed under the passenger seat.

the cabling can go behind the glove box and you don't need to remove the bonnet pull

I can't remember - i think you just pull it towards you (rather than up)

Few quirks that I found - maybe to do with compatibility of versions

- Most MFSW controls works - phone button doesnt work

- Phonebook shows garbled strings on Bolero but looks OK on the maxi-dot

When I fitted my bluetooth the Bolero also showed garbled info for the phonebook. The Bolero already had latest firmware installed so thought I would just have to live with it.

Luckily my Bolero (1Z0 035 156 F, Blaupunkt) died and was replaced under warranty. The new one had a different part number and manufacturer (1Z0 035 156 M, Delphi) but displays the phonebook info correctly.

lift from the front, directly under the vents. u can see the indentation where the clips go in this image.

this was the easiest path to take in order to cross from drivers side, to passengers side. handy when i did my footwell lighting.

wish i knew this when i was fitting the quadlock connector for the bt module.

back then, i ended up cutting the some of the plastic grid/mesh on the passengers side. u can see it in on the left in the image above, sitting outside the cage.

i placed the bt unit behind the climatronic controls.

That's where my parrot unit is, loads of space behind the climate controls
