r-tech or shark?!

Featured Replies

Hey all. Im currently saving for my car to be remapped. (mk1 octy vrs) At the minute it has one on but its not great, think some backstreet garage put it on for the previous owner and im thinking either R-tech or Shark......both have great reviews and just after a few personal opinions and experiances. Thanks a lot. Dan

not had mine mapped but if i was to it would be by one of these two companies

i'd just go to whoever is nearest

hi Dan

If it was me i would go with shark they are the best they did my remap on my last car, apart from doing very good maps they are very good people to deal with,

i purchased a remap over Christmas but due to circumstances beyond my control i could not have the remap done and Ben gave me a full refund.

depends what you want, rtech are more custom and have better figures, epecially with the new mapping they are doing, shark have a good name on here too though, but are a bit more generic (unless you go or a custom map, if they do them now).

I think you should go to shark tbh.

Purely because once I sort out the fueling issue's with mine, I want to get it back into R-tech to have it remapped to it's full potential, and if everyone on here suddenly starts using R-tech i'll never get it done lol :D

In all seriousness, i've heard good things about both.

Nick has had tons of customers from this forum cossie and for many years he has been around along time including a few of mine lol

As for choice its really up to you both good

Oet there stuff is custom not just a generic map used over and over again !! ;-)

I wasn't involved, nick got a bit rough with my track slag, and she showed him who's boss.

Lol

i will say go with a shark map because i just had my car remap and its very good

both seem really good but know r tech do the launch :) and there new style mapping sounds awesome but everyone i know using shark loves em too

Personal Choice, Give them both a ring, ask some questions about what you are after in the map and make your Choice.

R-Tech are getting more and more known around the DUB scene for good maps.

I have dealth with shark before (not for a map but for moving a car) and got to meet ben in person, Nice chap, loves his work and they can offer a postal style service with the STS box, And you get a fault code reader in it too, i dont think R-Tech offer this service.

Give them a call.

MATE HAS AN APR MAP AND WON'T PASS MOT ON EMISSIONS EVEN THOUGH GOT SPORTS CAT :o

Lol he had man love with nick hence nicks burnt bum lmfao ;-)

not enough lube clive, not enough lube = burnt bum

so thats how you play it?

another vote for R-Tech, although I am ever so slightly biased lol

That said, every person I've sent up to Nik has come back grinning like a chesire cat.

Fantastic service, if your car is up to the job then every ounce of drive-ability will be exploited :)

Ben and Mikko at Shark do fantastic work also.

Shark do launch control, have done for a while!

Shark vote from me.

  • 3 months later...

Im looking at a stage 2 in the next month and woundering which one to go to . R-tech is a good hour and 20 minutes away and shark is about 30-45 minutes away . Ive rang shark up and they do the same as R-tech , but shark doesn't recommend the launch control unless the internals have been uprated . Shark told me the power for a stage to on a VRS would be about 220bhp and about 300lbs of torque . I thought the BHP would be more for a stage 2 , Think R-tech can get about 230-240bhp but the torque is about 270 .

Im stuck in the middle help .
