r-tech or shark?!

Featured Replies

Go to r-tech well worth the trip!

Just done a search and the comments from everyone and the reviews look brilliant . Just need to fill her with super unleaded now

Im looking at a stage 2 in the next month and woundering which one to go to . R-tech is a good hour and 20 minutes away and shark is about 30-45 minutes away . Ive rang shark up and they do the same as R-tech , but shark doesn't recommend the launch control unless the internals have been uprated . Shark told me the power for a stage to on a VRS would be about 220bhp and about 300lbs of torque . I thought the BHP would be more for a stage 2 , Think R-tech can get about 230-240bhp but the torque is about 270 .

Im stuck in the middle help .

I'm sure shark will get what they can out of your car mate, they prob just quote the norm they see.

That said, R-tech extracted 251bhp / 303lbft out of mine.

R-tech can also do full throttle gear changes and they can now utilise the vvt to work when hot and on the move! Extracting another 10bhp across the rev range!

R-tech all the way! They are getting more than 270 lb/ft as well! Niki will usually dial it down to aid driveability and save the internals on higher mileage engines!

I got 261ft/lb torque when I went stage 1 at rtech in may. Well worth the journey- I drove 2 hours to get there.

Why not considering a Revo?

Revo is 'generic' in the sense that it is not tailored for any specific car, I.E yours. R-Tech will make their map custom to your car and adjust as necessary, a much more 'bespoke' service for those wanting a bit more..

Can only recommend shark as they are the ones I dealt with.....very helpful and they don't ring the stuffing out of the engine just to get higher figures......they will give you back a faster and more driveable car...maybe even a couple of mpg more as well....just because the printout says it has more power doesn't mean its better

Both have an excellent reputation. I used Shark because of the STS as I'm in NZ and I'm very happy with their work.

We all know that a car advertised ( by the Manafacturer ) as 200BHP my only have 190 and some may have 210 BHP so if 10 different cars, all with slightly different BHP should all end up with the same BHP if they used a " Generic " map stating figures of say 240 BHP?

How can they? What if car A is in perfect mechanical health, but car B has a weak actuator (as in my case)..., will they still end up with the same BHP? Unlikely.

A weak Actuator should affect how many horses a car has surly

I will stand corrected though

Of course it will weak actuator less power
