Its simple, take off the wheel and there are two bolts at the top of the inner wing, one bolt and nut at the bottom of the shocker. Then one 16mm bolt on top for the bearing, which is a ****** :)

Thanks for that, was worried I was going to have to strip the whole back of the boot out. Brill.

To undo the top shock nut, especially if you are replacing the old shocks with your new B6s, you can use impact wrench, even the cheap cigarette lighter socket powered 12V ones will do, just make sure it works both ways. It saves a lot of hassle. I did all shocks on the old Octy without an impact and it was a struggle, on the Superb I used the impact on all top nuts and it was 2x faster job overall.

However, to tighten the new top shock nut (and actually all other bolts), do not use an impact, as it is easy to damage the new shock. Make sure the new nut is torqued correctly (I'm pretty sure the torque is stated on a leaflet next to your shocks, or on the box). Also, make sure you only tighten the bottom bolt after putting the car back on wheels, with the car in gear and handbrake released (even though access is more difficult), otherwise later you might get squeaks from the bottom bush (and it'll wear out faster).
