Caught By The Fuzz

Featured Replies

Not as painful as it sounds, actually. Last night, I was leaving a petrol station, and a couple of coppers stopped me on the forecourt. I was thinking "Oh bugger, he's going to give me a producer for some imaginary offence", so I wound the window down.

Turns out, they wanted to ask about the car, and to moan about the diesel Astras they are lumbered with. Quite a relief, really, and really nice to talk to a copper who wasn't an arrogant boor. He seemed really interested in the motor.

Most are. They normally laugh at the 1.4 badge on the back of mine :D

A mechanic mate of mine had a drunk poke at a patrol car in Okehampton which had a rear light out, mumbling something along the lines of "I'd fail that in an MOT test.." Luckily PC plod had a reasonable sense of humour.

Most traffic cops are interested in cars -they're just pushed so hard to get the conviction figures. My mate, (who was a traffic cop in the 70's) often used to meet up with a friendly motoring journalist at various service stations, so he could see what his latest "tester" was. Apparently, they caused some concern one night when "testing" a Porche 911 turbo on the M1 -in uniform!

JOn, are you sure it's the badge they are laughing at and not something else? wink.gif

Now now Denis, envy can be a terrible thing:D

'caught by the fuzz' Better than getting swung round by the t*ts..... The old ones are the best.
