SOLENOID N18 & N239 VALVES. + VAC RESERVOIR DELETE.?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to Delete the N18 & N239 Solenoid valves along with the vac reservoir on the AWX.??

Has anyone done this??

The reason i ask is that ive seen a few vw golf tdi engines with this mod.

now i dont know what the outcome of this mod would be, anyone care to enlighten me?

for me personally removing would mean not having to worry about if the parts going to fail at some point down the line.

i found the diagram below for the passat b5 tdi, but im not sure its even correct.?!

if correct is the setup the same as the superb tdi.?

ive found guides for the engine codes ARL, ASZ & AXR.

I wonder if theres any major differences between those 3 engines and the AWX/AVF engines

Try to PM rotodiesel he might be able to shed some light over it.

did you do this?

There is a lot of discussion of the same thing I think here:

yes i used a pic from that site as i couldnt find/workout how to leave the vacuum reservoir in situ with the pipework

ripped all mine out removed all vac pipes from egr same as your pic except removed res as well

Did this on the weekend using the diagram, decided to keep the Vac reservoir as with the picture. Replaced it all with silicone vac lines obtained from ebay, along with deleting the egr took me about 1.5 hours and is well worth it.

It all made a lot more sense to me when I printed out the before and after pics and traced over the vac lines with a red pen as I was going along deleting the pipes

Next up...a remap to delete the annoying error code and give it more power!
