Where do I stand with dealer?

Featured Replies

P.S. let us know how you get on with it.

Five Fabulous Fabias photo.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Ive got the car back now, they have replaced the bushes a number of sensors and the radiator expansion bottle (?)

Car seems to be running fine but I'm completely fed up with it so I'm going to sell it :-(

How about just taking a moment and chilling the .... out. You got the dealer to fix the car, it's fixed, selling it now and taking a hit just because you had a bad experience is like cutting your nose off to spite your face. Whatever you choose good luck but I honestly think you'd be making a mistake.

I think I'm going to keep it and hope for the best, all of the problems have just left me with an uneasy 'will it break' kind of feeling :-(

Anyways ive done a swap with my parents for a month, I have their Focus and they have my Fabia. The idea is as they won't need it for work if it breaks it wont cause too many headaches and they live about 6 miles from the dealer which will be handy if anything does happen!

One thing my dad mentioned and I have also noticed is how almost violently the car starts when cold, it does seem to fire into life with suprising vigor.

A friend of mine jokingly said it felt like a v12. Is this normal? Its not as pronounced when warm and there are no other symptoms I can think of except a slight pulse through the car when idling.

You'll have all the Fabia benefits of low running costs, reliability (yes!!) and 'Briskoda'.

lol I'm not so sure about reliabilty at the moment but 'Briskoda' is a good reason to stick with it, really helpful & friendly forum!

the radiator expansion bottle (?)

That was the cause of the red flashing warning light - it was the low coolant warning, likely caused by a dodgy sensor, which is part of the expansion tank.

They do seem like relatively minor problems to those who know about these cars, a coolant sensor, console bushes and an expansion tank, less than £70 in parts. Luckily (though you may not think so), you purchased the car from a dealer who has obligations under SOGA, which is in addition to any warranty given.

If you do have any car problems in the future, the chances are someone here has had it before and know how to fix it.
