Hey all!! Whats the best tyres i can get for my standard vrs wheels. I wanted contisport 3s but they dont do them in the 205/45 16. Im just getting my wheels refurbed but need 4 new tyres. Help me please people!!

Thanks.

Mick.

Personally, I don't think you can go far wrong with any Michelins.

But of course, they are a bit pricey.

Michelin pilot sport 3 are meant to be good

pirelli p zero nero are good - i currently run these and would recommend them

both of those are pretty expensive ^^

alot of other members run:

toyo tr1's or uniroyal rainsport 2's

I run Michelin energy savers on my octavia.

Although the name suggests they are purely for fuel saving, actually they have fantastic levels of wet weather grip and are very quiet.......much better than the Pirelli p6000's that I had before.......admittedly a pretty bad tyre considering how much they cost.

Michelin Pilot Sport 3's are brilliant! Highly recommend paying the extra.

Agree P600/6000 are awful.

Costco is the cheapest for Michelin tyres fitted if you have a card or a friend with one, even better at the moment they're doing the fuel voucher promo but 1-2 times a year Costco themselves do a 25% off 4 tyres fitted promo.

Toyo T1R's are not the best.

In the dry and driving hard they are great, but only once warm.

If it is even a bit damp or cold, they are awful.

I have put my Nankangs on the front now and the car handles 10x better.

With the Toyos, if I put my foot down in 2nd, at 2,000rpm, the car would spin the wheels for a good amount of time. With the Nankangs it slips a little, but then regains grip.

Agree, toyo tyres are a nightmare in the wet. I might try uniroyal rainsport next. Only £62 each on camskill or £80 fitted on tyre trader

Michelin Pilot Sport 3

End of topic.

The Toyos are fine in the dry, better when hot, but **** when cold.

Also, don't beleive people saying they only last 3,000 miles.

Mine have done 16,000 and have still got a few mm left.

My T1R's lasted 6k on the front. Thats at 220bhp. Terrible grip/life imo.

P zero neros. Spot on. Cant fault these at all

T1r's are over rated. Not a massive fan at all.

I was looking at eagle f1 asymmetrics. Or maxxis maz1's. but i think they come in 195's not 205's so would have slight stretch
