My First Car: Skoda Felicia

Featured Replies

Hi All, totally new to cars and no one in the family has had a skoda before. Its a 1999 Skoda Felicia 1.3 Gli. Just wondering if anyone has any tips, pointers or warnings?!?

Hi and welcome, pop along to the felicia section, theres plenty of useful stuff in there for you... The felicia is a great little car, and they are really easy to work on too if you are handy with the spanners or want to learn

the 1.3 engines are strong willing little things, they do suffer a bit from early timing chain wear but it's nothing to worry about unless it's rattling. parts can be had quite cheap too which is a bonus

there aren't many options available for tuning these cars up, but some bits from other cars can be used such as brake and suspension upgrades if you are so inclined..

Hi Dave_99 Felicia is a great little car and the little 1.3 engine is great in my opinion. It pulls well from low down and lasts forever.A mate of mine bought one that had not had the oil changed in 30k miles and all it needed was the big end shells replacing. Not many modern engines could survive that kind of neglect. he sold the car on to another guy on here a few years ago who is still running it :) Kind of grew up with these as my best mate had a couple of favorits when we were younger.

Enjoy the car :)
