Felicia 1.3mpi electrical problems

Featured Replies

Car is a 2000 felicia 1.3 Combi.

It suffers from flickering lights accompanied by relay clicking from footwell fuse box. Also blower motor is cutting out and wipers get stuck on when clicking occurs.

This happens on idle and very badly when letting off throttle. Under load everything stays on.

Also indicator lights for high beam and low beam do not illuminate on gauge cluster

So far ive swapped out alternator, battery ground wire, fuses, that clicking relay, light switches aand battery. All parts are known to be good, they are from another identical car i have. Also opened up fuse box, had no sign of corrosion or water ingress.

What do i look into/swap next?

Check the yellow wire on the starter motor. It controls X-relay, which disconnects mentioned devices when the starter is activated. Since the issue is dependent on engine movement, it's very likely that it's broken somewhere. The other option would be grounding of the engine, but that should be fine since you changed the negative battery cable.

Check all the plugs behind the fuse box, slack corrosion etc.

In the past i had problem with them due to a flood.

Lights, wiper didn't work constantly but with interruption.

I have done it in the past with quality set cables, "ground kit" they call it back then.
