i had a remap done recently after asking the insurance if they'd insure me with it on...they gave me the so off i toddled to Jabba

Came home...wanting to keep it all legal...rang the insurance company PERFORMANCE DIRECT and said had my remap done now can u add it to my policy...cheers....

Only to hear them say sorry but we cant insure u with a remap...so i said 'WHAT :mad:' so they passed me through several people....only for them to say 'when did u phone, we'll have a look through our phone call record' (where they can listen to calls from previous days) so they came back and said 'oh we cant find that phone call' so i said ':eek::mad:' and lots of other choice words!

I asked the guy on the phone do u insure any car with a remap or chip...'No' he said!!! WTF performance insurance my ass, so i said 'Why was i told by one of ur operators i could insure my car with a remap' so he said 'well we cant prove that, as we cant find that conversation' conveniently! Basically he told me to cancel the policy as they wouldnt insure me...

I would just like to warn all u guys of the dirty tricks insurance companies get upto....Most of us know that insurance companies are a bunch of tw*ts most of the time....and this is the second time i've been screwed by 2 different b*stards ...MAKE SURE U GET IT IN WRITING...i will get everything in writing after this dirty trick.

Obviously i would have thought about not doing the remap til i found an company that would cover it.

Oh and, dont use these bunch of ****ers...

use Adrian Flux instead...thats who im with as of today for the same price as performance direct with my remap declared...

I insured mine with the tune before I got it done just incase. After a month or so I got it tuned by jabba.

On a similar note, when I was with Direct Line the policy documents said I was not covered to drive on an airfield. Now bearing in mind I work on a airfield and there's a 6 mile perimiter road I drive on and ould crash on I phoned and asked if this was OK. They said it was and I asked for confirmation in writing.

They wrote to me and said I was not covered if I crashed on an airfield.

I wrote and said I work on an airfield etc. etc....

They wrote back and said I wasnt covered, read policy documents etc...

I moved insurance companies

You've got to remember that these people aim to pay out as few claims as possible and will try anything they can to make this so.
