Positive thread about the Octavia

1.9 PD - so a reasonably modern diesel with no DPF to worry about.

(Aware some might question the reasonably modern bit, but having moved from a 1992 car to a 2009 car, in my book it is modern and virtualy new)

My first diesel car after over 30 years of petrol - liking the torque and the MPG

The armrest - Forget about the Jumbo box nonsense though, somebody was having a laugh here. Having said that sould have worked out that without tardis technology, how could you possibly put an actual jumbo box between the seats?

I don't get less than 40 mpg no matter how I drive it (short journeys, 'spirited driving' and round town)

How easy it is to overtake on single carriageway roads (I don't have to take a run up like I did in my old car)

The black wheels emoticon-0125-mmm.gif

XDS - It works better than I thought it would emoticon-0148-yes.gif

The ammount of people at work that like it and compliment it

Fuel economy

Huge boot

Loads of leg room (another 6'5" driver)

Hooks in the boot for the takeaway

Comfort

Audio quality

Stowage space for odds & ends, esp. in the front

Climate control

Oh! and fault-less so far

Ooh, I also like the bulge on the bonnet that, from the drivers seat, lets you imagine you're driving an American muscle car... Oh, just me then...?

The 1.8TSi lump in my wife's Elegance Spec MkII FL Octy. 0-62 in 7.8 secs and the fact that my 3 yr old son tells me 'too fast daddy' when exiting roundabouts! :giggle:
