rarb

Featured Replies

Might be a simple question, but most anti roll bars link between the vehicle body and vehicles axle/ suspension, but on the fabias polo Ibiza they seem to go from axle to shock mount, still on the axle? i get they improve handling no end, but can any one explain how it works as in theroy the axle beam should be solid? Or is it more of a lower rear strut/axle brace than a anti roll bar?

Thanks Danny

The rear axle isnt that stiff, it flexes a lot

The addition of a rarb stiffens it up no end!

I was sceptical for years but won a neuspeed rarb on ebay for cheap cheap so gave it a blast

I am totally converted! Corner speed is up 20mph at least

What you mention first is a rear upper strut brace. All rarb work like the do on our chassis.

One of these is soon going to be on my car after what I'm hearing about them!

no

no

Great reply. If your going to say no back it up. Not doubting you just explain why you say no.

Why

Surely its more of a brace than a roll bar then? As its preventing a solid component twisting? Rather than reducing body role like in a conventional arb set up ?

for a start, does a rear upper strut brace attach to the axle?

How?

How?

really long bolts?

Ahh

Not sure on the ones for a fabia but other cars i have owned connect to the top of the struts/body like he mentioned thats what i thought he was on about. I know they will be a different set up on the fabia from the suspension set up.

Why would these companies call it an anti roll bar not a rear lower strut brace?

This forum is heren to help, how are we ment to get help with answers like no?

And big jase why just say why. I can see why alot of fabia owners dont come on here now and others stop using this forum all together.

Connecting at the top of the strut is a strut brace. Whether it be a front or rear brace

I dont know the answer to your question but i can say it definately works

Im not saying it doesn't work but as you have said the axle flexes alot so this translates to roll? I know you havnt said its not a really a rarb just saying to what danny said.

I have. Read what i said again.

If you explain why you said no this could be summed up alot easier.

I said no because what said was wrong

Explain how it was wrong, why are you not just answering? How are we meant to learn if we are not corrected? I think you might not no the answer and just like being awkward.

Again, an anti roll bar does not connected between the body and suspension on any car i have seen only the suspension and the axle on the rear. Again strut braces connected on the body and suspension components.

Now please correct me where i have gone wrong.

a rear upper strut brace doesn't attach to the axle so you confused it with a RARB is beyond me. I've fitted a Jabba RARB to my mk4 Ibiza so I'm well aware of where they attach and the fact that it is more of a reinforcement for the rear twist beam than a proper anti-rol bar. I've fitted a strut brace to the same mk4 Ibiza so I know where that attaches.

think what you like

Dint mean to cause arguments lads :/

Just seems there selling them off as somthing there not cough cough anti roll bar scandal lol :p

Although the rarb fits across the axle it still prevents the car from rolling in the twisties so it serves it's purpose well and still deserves it's name :)

Or sway away bar for another name maybe more suited?

I have never said a strut brace conects to the axle i said on other cars they fit on the top of the struts (in the boot area contacted to the body) and he said on other cars they fit different and his explanation sounded like rear upper strut braces on lots of other cars. Then i said the rarb set up on the fabia is like the rarb on most cars. How can you not understand this?

Not saying you dont know how your rarb fits once, just saying he could of been mentioning the rear upper strut brace of other cars and been confused by the rarb.

Now i know im right, you know im right and everyone who reads this knows im right so im not going to reply anymore.

So which is the rarp to get?? Does the green Jabbasport one perform £70 better than the whiteline one?
