pd150 hybrid where from

Featured Replies

And by looking at the rr printout of a gtb 1756v it develops peak bhp at 3701rpm so doesnt look much in it?

Then on the other side darkside can do it for £1600 for a gtb with downpipe and custom map

Wheras to go a hybrid 150 its 1k for turbo, £170 for milltek decat and £400 custom map with fitting ontop, so probably makes more sense to go gtb1756

I have the hybrid pd130 and it pulls really well. Not sure on the exact figures though.

But cost wise I paid just over £500 for my fmic, £900 or so for the southbend "silent" clutch kit. £900 or so for the turbo from turbo dynamics and £1200 from unit 18 for fitting the turbo, intercooler, purchase and fitting of the turbo back piper exhaust and mapping. (this included oil change and oil feed pipe/ line)

If I did it again I'd seriously consider the darkside kit in terms of power gains

I will be going with the Darkside GTB1756v kit at some point, I already have a Forge FmIc and pipework, just need to sort the clutch out before getting the kit so it can be mapped to get the most out of it and not worry about clutch issues.

The kit seems very good value to me. Shame they don't want another guinea pig car, I did try lol.

Darkhero how do you rate the Southbend "silent SMF kit" iv heard good things about them??

I'm currently looking at clutches and flywheel kits for my car, sorry to OP for going off topic.

It's brilliant mate. It's the stage 2 daily driver. Clutch weight and bite are still very good and doesn't have the chatter normally associated with smfs. I'll see if I can get a video for you

Maybe this will help others. What is the typical cost of a hybrid Pd150 fitted with all the bits and bobs that need changing?

We know that a DS kit costs £1500-£1600 then VAT. The Darkside kits are very good value for what they give!

£950 turbo

£180 decat downpipe

£400 mapping

£48 4 bar map sensor

£96 oil feed pipes

£30 oil+ oil filter

total £1,704 approximately

Then add fitting...........

It seems good. It would be interesting to see a dyno plot of the same car converted from stage 2 PD150, to a GTB1756vk.

I would imagine it to be like this. Basically slightly more power higher up, holding for longer from the GTB, and the torque being similar'ish, but a bit more, higher up (which = more based on the rpm x 4545 formula)

My hybrid doesn't tail off like this. I peak at 4,200rpm with 220bhp and still have 215bhp at 4,500rpm and over 200bhp at rev limiter.

Oil feed pipes are they just the same as the 1s i have on the 130 the now or is more needed for the 150?

They're the same but its best to replace them.

£30 oil+ oil filter^^Errr I dont think its this high as anyone that pays £950 for a hybrid is getting mugged off! I paid £100 less than that in 2007 / 2008 or something!£850 turbo (at the most)£0 downpipe (isnt actually needed)£250 mapping (Sure Jabbasport do mapping for £250 for a hybrid)Rest fair doosSo £430 saving just not being mugged off ATLEAST.

DTD developments charge £550 to hybrid a turbo that's if you supply. But to purchase it's £550 + what ever it costs them to source the turbo.

How about a KKK BV43a from a longitude PD170?

Currently mapping one for on a Audi A4. Slightly quicker spool than the PD130 and expecting around 200bhp. Bolts straight onto his PD130 manifold.

Not sure if its doable on a our PD130's. would need to see if the Passat style manifold has enough room with turbo in place and lines up with everything.

Decat not needed, mapping at unit 18 was £250, 4 bar map sensor not needed, £98 for an oil feed?! I bought the whole gasket set & pipe for half that!

+1 My clutch is starting to suffer.

Ha ha I'm not surprised Joe with the extra oomph.
