Rapid now VAT free?

Featured Replies

I popped back in Hortons today to drop my certificate of entitlement for my personalised plate off and the Rapid in the showroom had a big this car is VAT free banner in it's roof. I did not notice it being there yesterday. It was an Elegance spec model I didn't notice if it was one of the early ones without climate and rear parking as I was in a rush. On returning home couldn't see anything on the SUK website.

seems to be on NO VAT, rapid not mentioned in the exclusions

from beadles website

No VAT on new ŠKODA

Buy a new ŠKODA from Beadles and you'll pay no VAT! *

Save up to £4,900.

* Excludes Yeti, Superb Diesel Estate, Citigo, Octavia Scout, Octavia 4x4.

It certainly is not a UK wide offer, unless website has not been updated. Having said that, Rapid would need "0% VAT on 0%VAT" offer, ie 30% discount to have a fair price.

From Skoda UK website:

0% VAT model inclusions: Fabia S, GreenLine II, SE (Fabia Hatch SE 1.2 12V 69PS model not included), SE Plus, Elegance, Monte Carlo, vRS and Scout. Roomster S, GreenLine II, SE, SE Plus and Scout. Octavia S, SE, SE Plus, vRS, vRS Blackline, GreenLine II, Elegance and L & K. Superb Hatch S, SE, SE Plus and Elegance (including L & K). Superb Estate S, SE, SE Plus, Outdoor and Elegance (including L & K) petrol models only.

It would be interesting to see if a salesman would agree to give a discount on Octavia 3, based on the description posted above :)

octavia 3 certainly seems to be better liked, several on order on the other thread

Seen the new Octy through a showroom window and very impressed by the look, even in silver. Think one of the off putters for the Rapid is price and without foglights, as many of the early ones arrived, it doesn't look finished off. They also marketed it in that (IMHO) awful washy denim blue; the Rapid needs black , white, red or even sprint yellow to stand out from the crowd.

My parents have been looking at the Rapid and noticed this. Apparently it was in todays times but when they looked at the web site did not really see much about it.

It would make them much more attractive. I know if they did 0% VAT (specially with 0% APR) they would have a definite sale to my parents)

There is a Skoda advert in today's Times for 0% VAT but it does not mention the Rapid specifically.

Rob, have your parents got a part ex? If they negotiate hard they may be able to get close to VAT free price.

0% finance is available on the SE and Elegance.

They have got a part-ex but its worth around 1200 at most (having just spend 1600 on it in the last 4 months on clutch, fly wheels, service & tyres!). TO say they are kicking them selves for not going for the Octavia VAT free is an understatement
