  • Good news! Ive made some enquiries and you CAN specify the surrounds on a UK factory ordered car - dealer needs to look for and add "Chrome Plated Mouldings (4ZG) "

Hi Yeti_Man, Just had a look in the Hungarian configurator and found it listed as extra equipment (code: 4ZG). Costs 96 pounds converted. Cheers Zed

I like the chrome but I guess it gives people the option to have it or not but if you liked it before and now you have to pay then that is not good!

It's a shame Skoda will end up pricing themselves out of their market. It's a value brand, few buy a Skoda for the badge, if we could buy an Audi equivalent spec, performance and reliability we probably all would. The price strategists need to understand this or lets face it, some of us will be going to Kia's and Hyundai's, 7 yr warranties and quality going up all the time if still a bit flimsy, but most customers want what is essentially great value and practicality. Perhaps Kia's and Hyundais are the "Skodas" of 2014.  If my knowledge is right, and this came from Skoda UK,  Octavia's were originally aimed at the market sector of Rover drivers, again, good value cars, nice interiors, comfortable, pokey, just a shame the head gaskets used to go and the they broke down.. So come on Skoda, stick to your original aims, solid, dependable and a customer base who appreciate value for money.
