New Octavia RS confirmed for Goodwood

Featured Replies

I know it's still disguised, but I'm liking the deep intake on the front bumper and the general low, wide stance of the new RS:

Even test drivers embarrassed to be in a Skoda. Is that a bag on the driver's head?

  • Just a little photoshop I did this morning, I think it'll look really good!

  • hmm, had a look at a new Octavia today, and I could be talked into one, I read somewhere they are considering a 4x4 special edition VRS, if so, Im all over that!

Just noticed it's also right hand drive so SUK will have no excuse if these options not available on UK spec, this one also seems to have park assist as front sensors also fitted!

That's for Ireland, who do get all the options :)

Looks a significantly nicer car in red. Hope that rear spoiler is a disguise.

I think any Octavia that has cruise control will come with ACC as standard from a certain build date. My bet is that the vRS will probably come with it as standard.

Also its likely given its price increase that it will probably have a pretty good standard spec, certainly alot better than the MK2's. Will probably be a hybrid of SE and Elegance spec.....wondering if perhaps this time round Bi-xenons will become vRS standard equipment?

Yes we do :)

And if you don't want an RS, here's the sports pack!

Great looking...car.

Christ, that blonde lass doesn't half look mucky!

Isn't that still just a concept i.e. will never make it to the retail world

Wow, it's got a chin like Bruce Forsyth! Is that a UK option then ie the sport pack the UK will be getting that includes a subtle rear lip spoiler?

No were lucky enough to have the genuine accessories to make ours potentially look like that one :)

"Just in time for the market launch of the new ŠKODA Octavia Combi, the Czech manufacturer shows off the ŠKODA Octavia Combi with a sports package at Wörthersee. The equipment includes a front grille in a shiny black color as well as a red/black front spoiler. The covers of the outside mirrors and the roof girders are painted in shiny black, the rear diffuser in red and black. The sports version of the Octavia station wagon sits on the 18” wheels named ‘Turini’ in matt black. The sporty appearance of the interior is emphasized by black sports seats with red threads and aluminum pedals."

Other than the silly lip that's a nice looking estate.

Great shoes....the wheels I mean!

I like that...a lot...perhaps in candy white though.

That lip is rancid.

Is it likely that the Combi Sport is merely a vRS without the engine? If so, it certainly gives us a clue as to what the vRS could finally look like.

That bottom lip is very Quattro-esq IMO

ACC will be a cost option when it becomes available, my dealer principle checked with SUK

Yes, that's my understanding too. It's available as a cost option from a certain build date. :)

Must admit it looks bloody good especially in white. I will probably wait a year to let some other poor sole iron out the problems.

So what's the TAX bracket on a Octy 3 Vrs Diesel and Petrol?

Any ideas what it will be? trying to save the pennies as usual.

Oh, an any idea if a sunroof is an Option??????? I will only buy one if it has as I am 7ft 4.

Standard on the Elegance from July 1st according to your MY 14 change post a while back.

I think the acc is a cost option on all models but front assist is standard on elegance from July

Yes that's correct it's the front assist that's standard, ACC is a cost option.

Can I ask what MY14 means? Had it something to do with registration?

It's the reference to the manufacturing year and is something to do with the production cycle when new models or trim levels appear.

Ah fair shout. I'm fairly sure all Golfs with cruise come with ACC and front assist anyway dont they? Must be one area VAG are holding Skoda back. Given the hardware must be there Im betting its a coding change they'll end up charging a few hundred quid for as a factory extra.

Hopefully that's all they'll charge, I read somewhere the Ford charge £700 for ACC, but as you say the hardware from front assist being already there should reduce this.
