New Octavia RS confirmed for Goodwood

Featured Replies

Price for the mk3 VRS shouldn't change drastically. Though we can expect an R/Performance edition with an 4x4 option. It makes sence to me.

The Exeo Sport isnt in the same league at all as the new Octy 3. The new Leon would be the natural SEAT equivalent to Skoda's Octavia as it'll be offered in FR and Cupra trim as well as estate format. :)

I'll shut up then :)

Are we any closer to understanding what engine will be powering the new vRS?

The reason I ask is that a collegaue as just ordered one of these: Seat Leon FR

<snip>

It has a 2.0 CR 185PS engine with some impressive emissions of 112g/km.

Is it likely that this will float over the corporate fence to Skoda, or is there another engine lined up for the vRS?

Not sure whether this will affect the vRS but my colleagues order with SEAT has been put on hold, due to supply issues with the engine, he has not been given an update on when it will be delivered. In fact the lease company has suggested he can order another vehicle?!

I think Seat has struggled to get any of the 185ps engine since the new Leons launch. The Leon was an outside possibility when replacing my vRS and the Seat forums were reporting difficulty in ordering the above engine.

wonder if thats a vrs estate post-95470-0-17387600-1369060229_thumb.jpg

That is an Octavia with the sports package.

Any idea on cost for that option? Thanks

I too would like to know the cost of that option! :)

im not even sure the 184ps 2.0 TDi is available as a 5 door FR; if the car configurator is to be believed its only possible to have the 184ps unit in the new 3 door SC FR.

It was to be available, prices for it were in the motoring press and it was offered on the Carfile website, engine availability had been the problem AFAIK.

Maybe I will matey lol, I don't do the mileage to justify diesel again but petrol with DSG ?? Then again if we get the 1.8 DSG Scout in the UK that could be even better!!

VW Golf GTI prices now on Carfile website including options, £2000 off base 3dr !

And a lot is optional!!! Including sat nav, colour maxi dot etc!

I think its unusual that VW have pushed out the GTi without Nav but compared to the GT it does come with standard Xenons and 2 zone climate instead and all the other GT frippery.

It wouldnt surprise me if the vRS came more or less as Elwgance spec, without Nav but come with Xenons or something like. The vRS is likely to have another stand out factory fit feature.

Because the drls are now part of the light cluster, I cannot see it coming without them and this probably xenons.

Difficult to say though as on hindsight the official images released on the configurator some months ago did seem to show bumper based DRLs ala MK 3 vRS; it could of course end up with its own darkened bi-xenon cluster minus DRLs?

One of the reasons I did not spec bi-xenons on my Octy III was the fact I don't like the led drl's running along the bottom edge of the headlight unit, not sure why but it does not look as classy as the separate leds or in the way Audi wrap around more of the edge of the headlamp unit. Having seen quite a few of the MkVII Golfs without leds, I prefer the halogen drl, and while xenons look great, it would have been better imo to offer the choice of xenon without led drl. I think carrying over the bumper led drls would look better on the vRS.

I don't know for your country, but in Slovenia it is possible to order one. Prices can be checked in our configurator at www.skoda.si.

No vrs images are available. Probably because manufacturer can't provide them.
