Folding Mirrors

Featured Replies

Is there any way i can get my electric mirrors to fold in when locking the car? Its a 09 Octavia L&K

If it is like my 2009 Elegance then press and hold the locking button.

Press and hold works on mine. 2012 model

To get folding mirrors on my 2012 Elegance I had to order them as an optional extra. I imagine any dealer could retro fit at a similar cost - £182.50 inc VAT.

Press and hold works on my 2009 superb.

Hold it again - it closes all 4windows (i think)?

If mirrors are folded with remote - thn when car is started the mirrors auto unfold!

Unlock and hold - open all 4windows.

Would love to have this on mine!

me too....................my drive is very narrow, but folding mirrors was not on the option list

This was discussed in a thread some time ago and IIRC the cost of retro fitting was generally prohibitive. It was a big job because it involved a different wiring loom. Why SUK didn't make it a more widely available option beats me!

Sarge.

Thanks guys....indeed holding the close button does it! I will now RTFM to see how I missed that feature

In that area , pressing and holding the close button will shut all open windows.

And pressing and holding the open button opens all the windows. Great when the car has been sitting in hot sun. Does happen sometimes. :wait:

gregoir

unlock car, open drivers door and press/keep pressed drivers window switch to open window, all windows will open.

Same goes afterwards for closing:)

Take a look at ebay number 380455035302

Item number:

at the time we ordered our 2010 Oct Elegance they were in the process of removing the electric folding from the standard Elegance spec. There was a huge thread about it at the time, so i made sure we got it on ours

Take a look at ebay number

You'd surely need an updated controller(s) though, to control these? Plus the different internal mirror control switch as well.

My thoughts too. And was it ever an option on the pre fl octy? Didnt think it was so surprising to see these available

Asked Skoda CZ directly and they said they can't think of any way that folding mirrors would work on a pre-fl without a massive refit.

So wondering what the market for those ebay parts is. Mugs who dont have this sites wealth of info I guess...

Eddie-NL retrofitted to his golf IIRC.

Skoda think not. VW may well have more bits hidden away as standard that allows this mod.

I think you are right.

I have been looking this afternoon whilst watching the football results come in (exciting eh?) and I'm not sure a switch even exists for the Octy (well not pre FL anyway). I can't find evidence of a circular shaped Skoda switch with a fold option at all. 1Z2959565A is circular, and has all the other options but not fold, while the Superb switch with all the options (3TD959565A) is not circular.

However, I think from looking at images that a VW Scirocco switch has the same circular shape as the pre-FL Octy switch. A switch with a part number of 1KA959565AREH is shown on http://www.sciroccon...d-t8398-20.html (second page half way down, lower image, although I think the upper image is the old switch), and it seems to have worked for the poster. I'll keep looking.

That looks like the switch I have on my L&K

Useful to know thanks

Popped my existing switch off today and noticed one pin (pin 4) not connected to anything, and so wondering if this is needed for the folding function, or if the folding function is handled by one of the five wires already there. My guess is an extra wire might be needed, so if anyone has a wiring diagram for the switch, I'd be grateful to see it (I've googled without much luck).

Thanks

Adam
