Well, it is a quite weekend on the west coast for me this weekend. We, the wife and I tootled 370km north to Dongara last weekend for a few quite days away before the Easter crowd arrived. Drove 70km further north to Geraldton last Tuesday and called in to visit with an ex-colleague on the way back to Dongara. He and his dearly beloved moved up that way last September after buying a beachside cafe known as the Starfish Cafe. They have made a few improvements and the move appears to be working out well for both of them. Returned to the big smoke in time to take the Yeti in for its first service. Whereas this morning I gave it a good washing, which it sure needed. Boy oh boy is the back end of a Yeti a dust magnet! Then I mowed the lawns, how the excitement grows, before popping over to fix a friends computer. No sound was the reported problem from the old dog and bone that had give its familiar ring. The issue was not apparent at first, but now appropriate sound is being emitted once again from the friendly speakers. While I had the side cover off, I cleaned out a goodly portion of accumulated dust. Now there is one happy computer and one happy computer user. If only I could swap the odd computer repair or two for a Yeti service.

I'm going to look at a new pup tomorrow afternoon. I was hoping to get a new man's best friend in November after I have retired and driven east to Mansfield, Victoria to visit with friends, as well as stoping off here and there along the way there and back. Stopping at places such as, Streaky Bay for starters and various places along the Murray River. During three previous crossings we never went to Streaky Bay, but have seen some of the Murray River before. We will also take in a few tastings in the Barossa Valley as well. So, will I return home tomorrow with a new pup. Only time will tell!

Happy trails,

Banjobach

Wow, that's a mighty machine!!  When do you hope to remove the stabilisers?

Stabilizers are a permanent feature lol :-)

It really is the weirdest feeling riding a trike, having to actually steer with no leaning....and leaving massive braking distances lol.

Travelling to Silloth on the Solway Firth. Going up to ser SWMBO folks.

Probably having a few beers whilst we are there :)

Anyone who spots a 62 plate grey S4 travelling from Hull to Silloth, give me a flash :)

Route as follows - M62, A1, A66, M6, B5305

'Almost as pretty as mine'

Your what?(corner job?)

Yeah, but I got a garden full of 50's/60's classics as per avatar, inc a Seadog, possibly the last surviving example!, an early GP14 sail no 154 now over 100,000 also have original receipt for her, when delivered to the Royal Windermere YC i'm her second owner! - the list could go on!

Hopefully drving the Yeti to the hills and do a bit of this. But this strong Easterly wind might put a stop to that and the track to take off looks too much of a challenge, even for the Yeti.

And if we get any more snow I might have to do a bit more of this

As we are here on the Passover holidays, we had the time traveling to the "Dead Sea" - the deepest place on the planet.

and back to our "Snow (?!) Monster"

Amazing how different weather and landscapes on this planet...

Wow, the filter blocks s w a n k y

And S****horpe!

Just as an aside - these are easily sorted by inserting a space at the front and end of each word in the filter so that it won't pick up these spellings in the middle of another word - but that's down to one of the Mods or Colin

999pooch - Silloth, the town that time forgot! My sister used to live there - got one of the widest main roads in the Country I reckon.

Looks beautiful....thanks for reminding me what blue sky looks like.

Might go out in this (as I don't have a s****y caravan)

I'll not ask what the ****'s are covering!

But if you would like a nice caravan I can introduce you to the blessed Alistair Duncan who is the Stuart Houghton of the caravan world (ie steals your money with a smile!) .... talking of Stuart since we are in Fife popped in and had a test drive in an Octy 3 ... nice! Roll on the vRS!

From someone who generally doesn't like caravans - that one's a real beauty - I'm worried now, is it catching?

Yes ....!!!! But I've been caravanning since I was 10 days old so I would say that ... and am happily sporting my 25 year membership of the Caravan Club sticker on the back window of the Yeti though I'm not yet 43!

Ah we're camping and caravaning club, your one seems to frown on camper vans

I'm with them too! 23 years with them!

Worryingly Mrs 33Q said yesterday.....will our Yeti pull a caravan?....no dear....funny how the Yeti sometimes gets confused in my mind with her Mini Cooper

I've been doing a spot of DIY this weekend.

Our front gate is screwed to 100mm fencing posts, and in turn, the posts were screwed to the brickwork.

This weekend, I removed the gate, and the old rotten wooden posts and am 1/2 way to putting the stuff back together.

New posts are being painted tomorrow, and the repointing has been done on the brick supports prior to the newly pained posts to be screwed to them.

Gate has been brushed down as have the hinges, and will be painted with Hammerite tomorrow, weather pending.

Lets hope for a warm(isn) and sunny Easter day.

Happy Easter to all. :rock:

Boat rigged ... and there's Betty behind the boat to keep the thread Yeti relevant.

Ooooh! Now that is looking nice Bob. Jealous, me? Yup!!! :hi:

Finally got around to working on the lower grille. Need to finish it for the Yorkshire mini meet.

Yeti took a look around the Peak District.

That's enough. I'll stop now :sun:

Fortunately we've contracted out all our overnight and weekend emergency work so it's been a good, long, four day break following a spell of covering for my colleague who is off on the Scillies.

Spent the time variously erecting shelves, curtain rails, and, since next weekend sees an annual gathering of musical vit'neries, dug out the trusty 12 string from the depths of the back of the 'Berb along with various speakers I thought I'd lost, and set about trying to learn a few new songs.

Travellin' Soldier by the Dixie Chicks is much trickier than they make it sound! Perhaps it might be better on the new mandolin I acquired and haven't run in yet!

And finally - got the steam iron out, the stereo blasting out Runrig full volume, (cue a queue at the cat flap to get out in a hurry) and set about ironing well over 30 shirts, rugby shirts, jeans and so on that had inexorably piled up to the echo of "Och - tomorrow!" on a daily basis for weeks.

Oh - and sat at the kitchen table for a time each day, gazing out over the returning green of the fields, dotted about with the white of gambolling newborn lambs, hearing robins and blackbirds calling, the occasional red kite or buzzard mewling overhead somewhere in the weak and watery winter sunshine - and reflected that there are few better places in which to spend time, and which I am fortunate enough to be able to call 'Home'.

Parayeti, that 'Duper Lane' looks a lot like the road/ track I used to live on in the Calder Valley, which is why I initially bought the Yeti, and also why I moved back home to Norfolk after being snowed in there several times over the last few winters. I spoke to one of my ex-neighbours on the phone the other day, and they're snowed in again.

Freshacre - life's too short to iron anything! I haven't ironed a shirt in 30 years (put them on a hanger a little damp and the creases drop out ... well, most of them  )

I removed the innards of the boot on Saturday and fitted the Skoda OEM towbar electrics harness to the main wiring loom - took a mechanic mate next door to tell me where a couple of the Torx screws were otherwise I would have damaged some of the panels during removal.

Decided to leave the bumper till today cos I'm not 100% sure how to take it apart! Yep, I know what you're thinking - I'm usually good for changing wheels, bulbs, checking oils etc and fitting the occasional auxiliary lights, beyond that I'm mechanically incompetent........... So this is a bit of a major challenge for me especially since my garage is full of rubbish that SWMBO has put in it and I cannot take it to the skip until I get this blooming tow bar fitted!

beyond that I'm mechanically incompetent

Me too! When I met SWMBO I told her not to expect any of that "manly putting up shelves stuff". I told her I don't do 'useful', just 'ornamental' ... to which she replied "You're not much good at that either" :(
