Wonder if anyone can help me?

I, after many months of ownership of my Citigo, decided to configure by PID for hands-free phone use. Had no problem "pairing" it up with my HTC Wildfire S, pressed the option to copying my phone book, even received a call.

However, when i went to make a call i noticed that (in the PID phonebook) it had only got 5 names! So, if i make a call i have to input the whole number digit by digit, which is impossible on the move.

Anyone know how i can get all my contact names into my PID?

Have you got the 5 numbers that it uploaded stored in a different location on the phone eg are all your contacts on the sim card except those 5 which are in the phone memory. Therefore the PID has done it's job uploading the phone content which only has 5 numbers ??

Just a thought........................

I agree with Feebet.

I have a feeling that the PiD takes the data from the contacts (phone book) on the phone.

Probably because you can have several different numbers stored for each conact.

I believe the numbers on the SIM are stored as single files in a different format.

Thanks, i "copied" all my sim card contacts into my phone memory and......

Still the same.

Any more ideas?

Hi Mike,

One other thing to check is under Contacts look at 'Groups'. See how many numbers you have 'Not Assigned'.

I have read somewhere that with some car kits and Android phones, your numbers need to be assigned to 'My Contacts'.

Hope this helps.

I paired my Wildfire S with the PID in dad's Citigo and all the contacts and their numbers are uploaded. Did you try refreshing the PID phonebook when paired with your phone?

Thanks, i don't have a "contacts" icon in my phone. I have "people", there's groups in this. So do i have to create a group called "My Contacts" as there isn't one present?

Yes, i tried that i'm afraid.

Do you have a "contacts" icon or do you just have (like me) a "People" icon where your contacts are stored.

Also, can you tell me how they are assigned?

I have a 'People' icon where my contacts are stored. They are all stored on the phone. Some are in in groups, some not.

Simon, are they also stored on your Sim card?

None on sim, all on phone.

That could be where i'm going wrong, so i should tranfer the Sim contents to the phone and delete them from the Sim? is it possible to copy the contacts back to the sim when i change phones in the future?

On the Wildfire S you can export contacts on the phone to an SD card or you can download Rainbow Contacts to backup your contacts.

Ok, so i could transfer my contacts to the phone memory, delete them from the SIM, and then back them up, a bit of a palava, but it might work!

With it being an Android phone, just set up a Google account and all your contacts are stored by Google providing under each contact you have the Google symbol at the side. Benefit is, replace your phone with another Android phone, log in to Google and Hey Presto your contacts will sync to your new phone.

Don't bother with numbers on your sim card at all.

Maybe not enough memory? What it says when you connect your PID to a computer ?

Well, finally got it to work, took me all day! (and several attempts!). Basically, i deleted ALL contacts, did a factory reset on the phone, re-installed the contacts with the a google account - and it worked!

I'm not sure why it took me 3 attempts though.

Thanks to everyone for their help.

If at first you don't succeed, give up and go to the pub.

Glad it turned out good for you...at last.

Now, i just have to work out how to get text messages to show up on the PID - surely not another factory reset?

Mine does not work - Samsung Galaxy S3. Think this is dependent on phone compatibility ?

Yeah, i'm finding the same too!

I know the S2 works... Are you sure the S3 doesn't?

Doesn't seem to work for me (Galaxy S3)

My Nokia C3-01 (1.5) is not on the list and found the PID and paired quite easily (once i had taken the hide bluetooth off my phone). Making, receiving calls and phone book, music no problem as well
