Glove box removal

Featured Replies

Does anyone have the glove box removal instructions page from one of the internet download manuals or the sequence of how to remove?

Need to pull a cable through from engine bay via the grommit behind glovebox

Thanks for link DCC was just what i was looking for but could not find.

May be i need to find another route as to remove glove box will need vcd to reset airbag error light and do not have vcd

Need to find manuals for front wheel arch liner removal and tailgate trim panels so will start a new post.

Many thanks

Have removed the glove box many times, with the battery connected and not had the need to reset an airbag error..... PROVIDED you do not switch on the ignition when the override switch is disconnected.

The handle on the glove box need not be removed if you have a Torx bit with a slightly rounded or ball end.

Hope this helps

Thanks for info DCC.

Did you need to remove the glove box also to get a cable through to the engine bay?

Just looking for confirmation of the existance of a hole through to engine bay behind glove box?

What year is your combi as i have member telling me that they do get the air bag error light every time they remove their glove box as per the manual and not when you remove yours so wondering if there is something different in year model before i take the risk of removing with the possibility of the error light.

Many thanks

DCC is correct (I'm the member that said I got the airbag light once I disconnected the switch!). I forgot to mention it is the turning on of the ignition that throws the error, apologies for that. It never really occurred in our messaging as I have VCDS so its not been an issue for me to reset it.

I had no need to go through the bulkhead for a power supply. No idea if there is a route thro to the engine bay

Installed a TV and interface, which was a small additional load, so simply connected to the Columbus permanent +VE supply.

The TV is powered on/off by the Tera interface, which in turn is controlled by the Columbus/ Can Bus system.
