I thought I'd do better.

I had problems either bogging or wheelspin off the line and my reaction times were pretty poor.

has anyone found a way of getting a good launch from the RS ?

Regards,

Colin.

i wreaked my clutch trying to get it off the line...

managed a 15.3 but need to get into 13's

Colin, I'm assuming that yours is standard.

Practice is the only answer to this one, unfortunately.

Or some tuning

Superchip + jetex Exhaust.

I think your right about practice. One of my reaction times was about 1 second.

I think getting off the line was my biggest problem. Some of the people running has slicks fitted at the front. I'll maybe see what sort of tyres I can find for the next time.

Thanks,

Colin

0.7 sec for reaction time is quite good the professionals only do it in 0.45 secs any less then thats a red light !

Pretty consistent times, Colin. Higher speed across the line than the times suggest. Reaction time can look slow if wheelspin slows your launch, but yours aren't that bad either.

So where's Denis with the obvious answer? :D;)

Fit a JATO bottle. Alternatively - and the answer you are expecting - fit a Haldex..... :D :D :D

4X4 rules - OK!

I was wondering how long it would take till someone mentioned 4x4.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think with some practice I can get the reaction times down and with less wheelspin I think I should be able to get 15's.

Colin

buy some nos and run totb next year!

buy a scooby and run quicker all of the time :D

So Si, are you going to bring your all conquering Scoob to the Ring in September? I'd love you to show me how fast it is :D I'm sure if you ask Paul nicely, he'll let you come out to play ;)

Actually, I have a feeling that you'll beat me at tthe Scoobyshootout in September, so I'd better be careful what I say or I shall be trying to get a large helping of humble pie from the burger van at Elvington :D

it it hold together long enough..... not strong these scoob's

I'll be at a drag strip near you soon :D

Si, is it true that your engine is tuned by Cadburys? :D

PS, I've heard that you get really good results by mixing a dark chocolate block with a white chocolate head, rather than the convention all milk chocolate combination. ;)

:D

 lol

i deny all rumors you have heard... but i have had some technical issues recently.

The problem is, when you start to push the boundries a bit, relighability becomes an issue.

I think my engine is more fruit and nut variaty, my engines fruity and i'm nutty :silly:

Better'n the other way round... ;)

Rob.

I think its a typo rob :D

taviaRS,

Seen you post on scoobynet about the shoot out, r u going to have a play then???

Might like to see if ffelan in his "wacky racer" spec octy would grace us with his company... :drive1:

Maybe a few other might like to take up the challange too

I have provisionally been allowed to come out and play, just waiting for confirmation from Peccy. Steven said it would be OK, but as he isn't the organiser I still don't know whether I'm in or not.

Don't know how I'll do, it'll depend on the handling course. If its like last years TOTB one, I don't really stand a chance, if its like this year's well, we'll see :D

Most should beat me in the 1/4 mile, I only run about 14, top speed will depend on the space available, if its 1.25 mile I'll probably only get about 140-145, if its 1.5 probably about 165.

Should be fun :D

cool

will come if invited... but last i heard was the scoobs were scared of being shown up....?

Can peeps come and watch the potential Scoob humiliation ;)

Seriously, it's only a few miles down the road from me - when is it and are none scoob owners allowed to spectate?

Jon, does one think that I may be allowed to run my RS. :D
