Videos - new vRS on Czech motorway

Featured Replies

Couple of YouTube videos of the new vRS Spotted near Mladá Boleslav in Czech Republic, probably road testing.

Some of the bodywork looks slightly disguised to tone it down a bit, e.g. black tape around the bumpers and black door handles (presumably these will be be colour coded)?

I am really liking that green! The spoiler, although lower profile, really suits the car..!

A master class in driving one handed whilst taking a video front back and sides! It made me cringe! Difficult to make out any design features but fair play for taking the effort.

I really thought this tread would have more comments lol so it's looking like our new signature colour might be green after all!

I'm not convinced that's the vrs, or a factory finished spec vrs. The door handles are black plastic and the front fogs are the same as every other model. Plus the front bumper looks like a normal run of the mill bumper too.

I'm a bit unsure too as looks a bit 'standard' could just be the disguising on it. If a vrs does as others have mentioned add fuel to the fire around rallye green being the 'vrs' colour. Roll on goodwood

hmm, wouldn't have been fair play on any of the other vehicles if he'd wiped them out with this effort of driving or filming! noticed it was a rhd version too.

They were both LHD on my screen

Nah... looks like a RHD to me?

I retract my statement... I was referring to the one the vid was taken in lol

I think that was the point I wanted to make Loz without offending the OP. As I said it makes me cringe especially the part where he/she tried to take footage behind.

That was my thoughts too. If that is a factory standard spec vRS then adding the rear spoiler and lowering the suspension a little on my spec for almost the full vRS look!

I've been watching so many of those crash compilation clips I kept looking for the oncoming traffic in the wrong lane or someone trying to cut up on the inside

I'm pretty sure it's the RS (has the exhausts) but they don't tend to drive around in fully finished undisguised production versions.. They probably only painted it rallye green so it would get spotted, videod, and errr get people talking on forums :)

...without offending the OP.

No offence taken :) Wasn't me driving btw, I just found it on YouTube. Yeah, the attempt at filming out the rear window was a facepalm moment! Perhaps the motorways are a bit more 'wild west' out there.

Is it a vRS? I think it is. The twin exhausts and spoiler are the giveaway - no other Mk3 Octavia would have this. The bumper trim, black handles and foglights are to make the car look a bit quieter I reckon. I'm liking the green, want to see some official specs soon though! Will be interesting to see what's included for the price, versus the £25k Golf Mk7 GTi.

It has twin exhausts, nice side skirts and a low spoiler.i think the actual Vrs will have a higher spoiler, also it looks to have a standard front bumper and no led drl s , it's nice to see the Vrs get skirts this time round.

Also it looks too just have stock 17 inch wheels in video, again this will change I'd say.

They're either teasing us or it's a subtle leak :)

There was some word of maybe from Skoda when they said they are considering a 4X4 vRS. I also think that considering the VW & Seat hot hatches are getting 300bhp out of the 2.0TSI's we should be allowed the 4x4 as compensation! :)

4x4 would make a Vrs expensive tho :( anyone know will the new Vrs be much more expensive than the current model?

I'd anticipate that a 4X4 TDi vRS combi with DSG, metallic and a few sensible options might come in over £30,000, hope I'm wrong.

i think that box is an "either or" choice and once details of the vRS are available when you click on the vRS bit the grey bar triangle will move and the text will display a feature of the vRS engine
