Octavia rear brake discs & pads replaced.

Featured Replies

Top marks to the service team at Sinclair Skoda Swansea who today replaced my vRS's rear discs and pads absolutely free of charge at 25000 Miles due to them having developed bad rust on parts of their surface which I pointed out at 10000 mls at service handover.

After monitoring them and trying their sugestions I insisted they needed replacing which they did under customer care scheme.

Happy I am.

Anyone else experiencing rusty discs then tell the dealership for them to note the fact and keep politely insisting. Not all dealerships are the same though I guess.

Rust on the surface of the disk?- the braking surface or around the edge/ in the centre?

Not rust but bad scoring on both rear discs. Car has only covered 3k. Might get it looked at soon as it looks unusual.

Very bad rust and scoring on braking surface of both the back discs

Wow that does sound unusual and like it should be replaced.

I have seen this happen a couple of years ago on VW group discs on a Mk4 Golf we own not long after fitting brand new OEM discs and pads on the front. One disc went badly rusted and scored within 18 mths which really was annoyingngiven how well we try to look after our cars here.

I replaced them with non OEM, better quality, discs for less money and these are still un-marked with no rust at all. Why??

OEM Just Not made from quality materials any more.
