A little update. After seeing this splitter some time a go I really wanted one. But could only find them from America and the carriage costs were seriously unbelievable. A quick search this am and I found one.

Here's the link to the splitter if anyone is interested. Will hopefully be fitted next week when it's delivered.

From what I took off the ebay add, I think you just place it up to where your happy with, peel back the 3m double sided sticky tape and place where desired and trim excess off.

As soon as I get it, I will hopefully fit same day, weather permitting. I think it should fit, the only car i could see that it would fit on the ebay add was a BMW series. But on the actual advert it says fits all makes and models. So I hope it will fit.

I have a question Keechy, do the wind/rain deflectors actually work? Quite fancy come myself!

I believe so, I fitted them as soon as I got the car so I can't compare to what it was like before. It helps when the car is condensated and raining. For me it was an impulse buy, I bought them before I even bought the car.

I have just gotten back from a 200 mile round trip to collect a friends new car and I have to say the Coilovers were very comfy racking up the motorway miles. It felt planted to the road around some tight bends on A roads and all in all I am very pleased with how they preformed. They aren't the best on pot holed roads which is understandable.

I would highly recommend them to anyone who is thinking of getting coilovers. Managed a good 48 mpg too which I am happy with. Just a smidge over 200 miles to what I calculated at about £26.

I have had the car nearly a year now and I can't say I'm getting bored with it. I love how good it is at plodding around doing my commute every day to and from work. But then you can push her hard and have a lot of fun and she hasn't really missed a beat. Only had one real problem which was sorted under warranty. (£375 bill) but other than that I cannot fault her.

So to summarise I have loved my first year in ownership of my first Skoda. On the todo list next;

Fit splitter

Order wheels and tyres,

Will remap it, but not sure when

Refurb LE alloys for winter use (May be a DIY jobbie)

Sort out a few niggly bits in the interior. Have a mark on the ash tray cover, so either spray gloss black or buy new from skoda @£35 iirc

Centre air vents also has a mark £80 from skoda so will buy this second hand more than likely.

Anyway thanks for reading guys and I am looking forward to my next year with the Octy.

Splitter hasn't been fitted yet. Not really had the weather recently. I have made my mind up on wheels (i think) 3sdm 0.01 8.5x18 all around.

May order them soon, but I think they will still be sat in boxes for a while so I'm trying to hold back as long as I can. Once I get them the refurbishing of my LE alloys will commence ready for next winter. I may paint the LE alloys a mad colour for the winter but unsure yet as I will want to sell them with the car when I eventually want to sell it. Need to decide on tyres too. Looking and uniroyal rainsport 3's as I have heard good reviews about them.

Thanks to Java, I think I have made my mind up on a set of 3SDM 0.01 et 40 8.5x18 for all four corners. I was considering the staggered look but in the end decided this would be better for my driving style and what I want the car to look like.

I may order them next week. I want to order them today but I know I will not put them on the car until at least end of feb if weather gets a little warmer. May fit splitter tonight as it seems to be staying dry. Depends on the temperature.

Anyone know how strammas (the guy who used to own this) would have got the splitter to look like this?  From what I can tell with the splitter when I fit it will be parallel all the way across. I would like to try and get the kink in it just like the below picture.

Splitter looks the same as mine keechy, is yours rubber or foam? Mine is rubber from USA, came to £27 all in. That guy looks like he has just stepped it back abit then across again to get that shape. Mine is held by self tappers not 3m tape so is yours the foam one?
