Gave the car it's first official 'Mini' Detail today. Not before or during pictures as I wanted to finish before the rugby, so I started at 9am and finished at 2.30 just in time to grab some grub before kick off, I did miss the first 20 mins but never mind.

Firstly snow foamed with magifoam and autobrite snow foam lance and left to dwell for 15 mins

Washed using dodo juice born to be mild,

Alloys cleaned with hot wheels,

Clayed and tar removed,

Snow foamed

Polished using Poorboys SSR 2 then finished with SSR1 using a DA polisher.

Waxed using collinite 476 wax.

I may purchase my self a new 'summer' wax soon and demote collinite to my winter wax then. Thinking of buying DoDo Juice purple haze but will do some research before hand on what works best for the same price bracket.

Anyway enough talking here's some pictures ;)

I seriously need to get myself into this detailing lark with a decent polisher.

Looks well mate :)

It's very addictive. I have done two cars in last two weeks and another friend wanted me to do his, but I put my foot down and said I'm doing my own this week. Then I went out to see a few other mates and one asked me to do his too. So that's another 3 cars to do. But it's so satisfying when it turns out nice.

Your Octy looks showroom clean, makes me want to polish mines up. You finally ordered 3sdm's wheels :) They will look PHAT! :) Look forward to see your fresh pics.

Where did you bought that skoda logo sticker? Did you removed previous old logo?

Edited by siemi1

Old one still in place. And I got it from a guy on here who makes them (Cliff) User name is Pastyboy. Really good quality and is a great seller.

Could you make a macro photo how it looks like in closer look :)

A cheeky shot of the car in town this evening whilst taking the better half to work. Still looking nice and shiny.

You parked in the disabled lot...When are your shiny wheels coming?

I didn't even notice that I was, never mind.

I haven't ordered them yet. Still trying to make my mind up 100% may just get my holiday out of the way which is in May and order them after that. I'm being really awkward when it comes to the wheels as I want it to be perfect. It will be the second biggest purchase I make for the car with the coils being the first.

I've seen a few different octys with 3sdm but still can't make my mind up if they look good.

Lol never mind I park there all the time :D You got a fare few months to go then, saw your signature so got a wee bit excited on the orders of your 3SDM's. I will buy those wheels with my eyes closed :)

Yeah a fair few months, you never know I may even surprise my self. I'm just enjoying driving her at the moment and not caring if I curb my wheels or not. I don't try and curb them but if I do I just laugh it off.

But as soon as she gets new boots I will then have to concentrate more when parallel parking etc.

Swings and roundabouts some people may say.

Looking at private plates today, With my dad owning the one I want, 'K55 CHY', I am left thinking of what to get for mine. Whats people thoughts on this?

Wheels will make or break a car so your doing the right thing by not rushing.

If I was buying new I'd be the same but I already know what my choices would be out of :)

CR for engine, VRS is obvious, any significance to the numbers?

Doesn't immediately jump out at me. It's not easy picking a plate as a search won't bring them up if they've never been released. Mine had never been issued but after my enquiry the DVLA released it to auction.

No significance, just what they had. I like the fact that most will understand the vrs part but only a few will understand the CR. When I'm in the market for one I may try contacting the DVLA may even see if they can make one like my fathers.

Can you not get K33 CHY?

Yes, but it's already taken. And so it k333 CHY

No car is registered with K555 CHY so I may try that.

Or KE55 CHY, KS55 CHY or even KE33 CHY

KE55 CHY - Vespa,

K33 CHY - Scenic

K555 CHY - Astra SXI

K88 CHY - Ford transit

KE33 CHY want be available until 2033 so that's out of the question.

Just found out that K333 CHY is not on a vehicle at the moment, but it could just be on retention.
