Bruntingthorpe Competition winner

Featured Replies

As you all know, we have run a competition where the winner will have a fully paid-up place to go on the Bruntingthorpe track on the 18th June (this coming Saturday).

Freedom membership has paid for this.

As most of you know the basic membership gives unlimited access to BRISKODA and all its benefits, e.g. discounts and group buys, gallery space, meets and events. However, all this takes money.

Freedom aids the running of the site but more importantly, enables the BRISKODA community to be provided with an enhanced experience in the form of competitions/prizes and perhaps in the future, BRISKODA merchantise and subsidy for track days/events.

So for

Pay your fiver and there'll be rides in it for you... I for one will take you out, even though it won't be that exciting in my standard Octy vRS :D

Although I can promise to drive like a man possessed ;)

Looking forward to it!!! :D

I'm just looking forward to meeting everyone, (names to faces etc), and seeing all these cars that are faster than mine! Might even learn a couple of driving hints too!

Where are you MrkyMrk? :sofahide:

Hi folks :)

I'm old skool briskoda - back when the Octy was the only vRS (the 2 year old briskoda rear window sticker is still on there) - but I've been away for a while doing stuff online racing / SCSA racing related. Decided to pop back in one quiet day at work and look what happened!!! :D

Met a few guys at a mini-meet many moons ago - if I'm not getting my names mixed up (I'm carp with names) it was DaveU who let me have a blast in his 240-250ish bhp Octy. Just a shame the weather wasn't so good. Dave still around? Still have the 'stang? My car is still totally standard other than wrecked rear seats due to child seats crushing them. Oh, and I replaced the rear speakers, too...

TTFN...

Aha, so you're the one with the briskoda sticker I've seen once or twice

If you're going up to brunters and are going on track, then it will be an early start. Unless I go up Friday afternoon / evening, do you fancy going up in convoy? Maybe vrs_si would join us too :)

Well done Mark.

Well done Mark, enjoy the day.

Did this generate many new members Colin.

PHEW!

My babysitter arrangements fell through and the wife has just agreed to change plans for the day to allow me to go. FWIW when I entered I *was* available...

Now, I'm a virgin at these things and the car is the main family wagon. I'm gonna drive at a level I'm comfy with. I have a vRS - I'm obviously not a pootler - but I'm not gonna be flat out and intend to remain within the tyre limits - I'm already skint enough without scrubbing the dang things bald. I'm gonna enjoy driving briskly without the risk of oncoming cars, pedestrians or horses around blind corners...

do you fancy going up in convoy?

I could go for that :)

Do you drive by the Cunning Man on Burghfield road regularly by any chance? I see a black Furby around there quite a bit. In fact saw one there this morning with aftermarket alloys and grille...

DaveU is still here - although his car has "evolved" a little since you drove it ;)

Yes, would be me. :D

This morning, I guess it was you waiting by the lights by the bridge? By the time I noticed the octy and waved, I had just about passed you. Do you have a baby seat in the back?

Do you have a baby seat in the back?

Does this help, Xav? :P

Nick's paying attention :D

Yes, isofix baby seat one side (seat crusher), booster on the other, and on Wednesday mornings it's the 2 year old occupying the baby seat on the way to nursery... I digress...

The external mods - are they new? First time I noticed them.

Lemme know where you wanna meet if you decide to head up on Saturday.

Cheers,

Nick, you are very observant :P The point I wanted to make was that I thought the was a lil'un in the seat this morning, which Mark has just confirmed :D

Mods on mine have always been there - well, on that fabia anyway. I've had this one for about 4 months now. Before that, had an identical fabia but with standard alloys, suspension, brakes, front grille, milltek, etc... Change was due to unfortunate circumstances :(

I'll find out for sure whether I'm going up Fri eve or Sat morning.

You could say that....it's a completely different car and colour fromwhen you attend the last mini-meet IIRC. :D

I'm mixing my conversations - note to self - must be more clear in future... The car mod comment was meant for Xav. I do see a black regular-looking Fab vRS around that area, too, but I know which one to wave at now :)

I understood that....and the comment still counts. :D

Xav has a different Furby to that at the last mini-meet you attended....it may have even been the one when Jon attened soon after picking up his SDI estate.

Don't think fast-Furby's existed when I last attended a mini-meet (the only one I attended). Who was there that time...

Nick was there in his non-vrs, Quinten, DaveU, yourself, erm... there was the fully kitted out v6 Superb... If there *was* a Fab my most humble apologies for forgetting about it. It was almost 2 years ago, tho...

How's it looking for a mini convoy, then?

:)

Would love to but I don't have a day-pass from SWMBO :o:mad:

A day pass

I didn't know that such a pass exists! I'm well jealous. I think the longest pass I can get is only 4-5 hours!
