Wouldn't get this with a merc or a beamer !

Featured Replies

Had to go into a hire shop in Newbury on Monday and yet again had another example of how much people are facinated by the octy vRS. I signed the paperwork for the kit I was hiring and the conversation went as follows:-

him; I will help you carry the stuff to your car.

me; no need, I am fine ta.

him; no problem, really, need some fresh air anyway.

we walk outside and he starts nosing around my octy vRS.

him; saw you pull up in this........nice car, any good ?

me; yeah fantastic, blah, 180bhp, blah, turbo, blah, best value performance car money can buy, blah etc etc (you get the drift)

him; wow it's very well built. looks fantastic etc etc. can't believe it's a skoda !

Now the conversation may not be new to many of you (nor me) but my point is this..........would you get anything like that response or interest if you pulled up in a merc, bmw, subaru etc etc ? I think not !

Now thats cool

Assume many of you must have had similar experiences. I get asked about it at least once a week.

Yep, same experiences of people stopping and asking about the vrs. Only times I have that before is when riding a motorcycle or driving an old classic car.

I roll up to a shop in the Fabia, I get people shouting out "look at that sh 1tbox he can't even afford a real petrol car" :grumpy: ;):D

Dont you find it annoying? I do because its my car that i use to get from A-B. I bought it because its great to drive and suits me.
