Ensurance

Featured Replies

TBH this has been done to death on Watchdog and other undercover programs, so I'm more surprised you haven't heard about it :)

As far as Ensurance goes, you don't need to sign up to anything to get these benefits. Most main dealers or reputable bodyshops offer the same services for free to anyone who walks in off the street and offers work to them. However it it gives peace of mind for some then thats OK :)

I have better things to do with my life. That's why I rely on this forum to keep me on the straight and narrow with regards to car matters

Just got a quote for my Yeti 2.0 S with Hastings Direct (my current insurer) for £160 (£95 excess).

Skoda £420 (£100 excess) :whew:

I've just added Ensurance cover as the price was right  . It was chargeable when I bought my Yeti last year.

Also had my renewal through today and it's a little less than last year (with Admiral)

I tried Skoda and they failed at the first hurdle - they don't think my number plate is for a Skoda! And after putting in the details manually the quote came to double that of Admiral, before an extras, like NCB protection, etc were added. I don't think I'll bother with them (again) this year.

Sorted out ensurance and insurance with Skoda.

I checked with all the usual online searches and Skoda were fairly competitive so decided to go with them.

Am I missing something?

If your car is damaged it's up to you where it gets fixed.

You don't have to use Bob's splash and dash that do insurance work cheap so the repair is based on budget rather than quality.

I always send my cars where I want. Main dealer where I feel it's appropriate.

You always send your cars where you want!  How often do you have an accident?

As it is free for 3 years I have signed up with Ensurance for my 18 month old Octavia vRS.  In principle I disagree with using claim handling companies, but if the worst happens, I now have the choice with just one phone call.  But as someone else on here said - have an accident and the claim handling companies will soon by contacting you.

Whilst Skoda Insurance were not competitive (for me) I feel that the free Skoda Ensurance is a super deal. For the likes of myself with little experience of navigating around all the pitfalls following an accident it provides a 'one stop shop'. Additionally, it will ensure that genuine parts are used and presumably repairs are to a standard expected by Skoda.

For me it was a 'no brainer' although for those with claims management experience it may not suit.

I got an E-mail from Skoda about this a couple of days ago. I filled in the online form yesterday afternoon only to find that the enter button at the bottom of the page was not working. I'll try again today..

I've signed up. See no reason not to.

Eventually got it to work today, only after it rejected my post code.

Can someone clarify the number to phone if I need the free Škoda Ensurance service  in an emergency?  I signed up for it on line today, and they say phone 0845 900 3650. My new car last week came with a booklet on "Skoda Roadside Assistance'. It says ring 0800 526 526, or 0333 202 1869 from a mobile.  Is this the same service - if so why different phone numbers - if not what is it?

Skoda roadside assistance is exactly that, same as AA, RAC who will attend if your Yeti breaks down. Skoda Ensurance is if you have an accident and will assist in recovery of your yeti to a Skoda body shop and help with your insurance claim apparently.

Skoda Roadside Assistance is the RAC.

Thanks for making that clear. I'll put both numbers in my phone list, and hope to need neither.

It was once AA, then RAC for the last 8 years, now back with the AA.

If you've purchased additional Skoda Assist cover before switch over, then the RAC will now honour this.
