What Colour is the L&K Yeti on page 23 of new brochure?

Featured Replies

Skoda_Yeti_L_K.jpgI'm just about to order my next yeti. On page 23 of the new brochure is an L&K and it almost looks like it's stainless steel. The dealer thinks it's steel grey, but just seen one and it's nothing like the picture. Is it just a publicity shot that's been photoshopped to within an inch of its life? Pity because it looks great, and I'd order it if it were a real colour

It's not the first time the colour in the brochure is not a colour you can buy in the UK.

It looks like bright silver, with a bit of photoshop to me.

I was told by my dealer it is the slate grey, but just in studio type lighting and most likely with a bit of photoshopping.

That said when I looked at a slate grey one in the dealership (as they just so happened to have one) it looked NOTHING like this picture

I would say it is steel grey - but most of the non-solid Skoda colours change their appearance considerably under different lighting (and perhaps with a little photo-shopping too!).

My previous cappucino Octy Scout looked anything from almost-silver to a browny-beige, while my current muscavado SM can look a truly rich colour but, in other situations, almost washed-out. One of the reasons my L&K currently on order is white: white is white (although, having said that, there are clear variations between manufacturers: I find the current Ford white very harsh and glaring, for example).

Perfect pictures Domhall! Mine is steel grey and yes it goes from grey to very blue depending on the light/clouds/sky above. Love it.

As to the photo. That is definitely a silver car photoshoped to A: be darker and B: have the same sized front wheel as back wheel making the rear wheels look like 19" numbers and filling the wheelarch WAY too much. With perspective the rear wheels should be smaller than the fronts in a photo.

Muscovado is one of the best colours for a Yeti. So stick with that I'd say.

More Steel grey pictures of my car to show how it changes:

yup, it is grey most of the time but on the rare occasions the sun comes out it can appear very blue.

wow it really does change! When I saw it it almost looked baby blue. Thanks for the posting love the B&W pics I'll do some when I get mine or as it's Muscovado maybe I'll do some sepia ones!

Silver - maybe, or am I biased?

Isn't that Lifeshine treatment? :giggle:

Isn't that Lifeshine treatment? :giggle:

Applied by my fair hands :giggle:

With the amount of crap over the car, there's definately no chance of UV light damaging the paintwork

he needs to go and visit http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/

But... but, it has a very detailed application on it already!!! (and only gets washed about 3 times a year).

the snow and hail is washing mine as we speak - my fault for taking the winter tyres off last weekend

Even if it doesn't need a wash :giggle:

It was platinum here too until 2011 wben they changed the name to steel. Whom i ordered mine the dealer was not too sure what steel was but spotted that platinum had disappeared from the list. Same colour though

Erm no... I ordered my Steel Grey in April 2010 (it only got delivered seven months later) and that was firmly called Steel Grey in the brochure at the time. :-)

in September 2011 the dealer and brochure said platinum but the cars were being sold as steel. Or was it the other way round? There was definitely a name change at the time I bought mine

Apologies Johann mine is September 2011 and it is platinum grey. The dealer was confused though as prior to that they were all steel grey. But it turned up as the same colour

I have no idea, I just remember the conversation when I ordered it, it was in Emden down for an expedited delivery as it was unsold, so I had a choice of taking that one or waiting up to 12 months at that stage. In the end I ordered it with no real idea of what the colour was other than it might or might not be the same as steel grey
