Wheel bolt issue

Featured Replies

Not my car but a mates VW Bora. He's bought these wheels to run around on for now as he hit a rock the other day and buckled his.

Anyway the standard bolts are to big to go through the hole!

This is them - they came of an Audi so I'm told. Demon tweeks said he needs slimline bolts and £60 for 20. Can he get some anywhere else cheaper?

If the bolts that fit the car are too big to go through the hole, getting thinner ones will not do as the thread in the hub is too wide

and the bolts will just fall out !

Radiotwo

I'd have to assume the OP means that the OE bolt heads with the wider conical seat are too big. Wheel bolts are expensive because they're quite large, have machined seats and are usually plated high-tensile steel. They cost what they cost.

Aftermarket bolts are usually 60 degree taper!

Cheers Joe! Jase is right the aftermarket ones are 60 degree taper which is what the tuner bolts are, just sent him the link to those so up to him what he does now :)
