  • All made up ready and will be installed moz morning

  • I think it would be important to have a ribbed end on the metal pipe to prevent the silicone slipping off. failing this use a glue or sealant?

  • Yes thats exactly it as I have an egr delete so didn't need the type 'b' coupler, think the 90º bend was 51-57mm? Will have to double check.

don't mean to be awkward but can anyone make it simpler for me on the parts I need, sorry I am new to all this lol

There appears to be some working links on page 8.

Anybody ever used this mega flex silicone pipe http://www.viperperformance.co.uk/productsearch.php?xscId=9853&mat=120947 I'm wandering if its possible to use this and leave out some of the alloy pipes therefore having less joints and less possible leaks....Any idea why this wouldn't work.

Interesting.

The one issue I would consider is how the pipe's shape is maintained inside the engine bay. Something with a bit of rigidity would almost certainly be better..... But brackets can be fabricated.

I looked at semi flexible exhaust pipe but the problem with this is the inside is ribbed and not smooth.

Causing turbulence in the gas flow? Yeah, not ideal.

What size clips/clamps are needed for this?

Alongside this, I'm also looking at parts for the lower pipe. Dose this look along the right lines?

51mm 90 Deg Bend, 51cm Leg

60-51mm Coupler

50-51mm Coupler

Silicon Bend 51mm Dia, 90 Deg

Any good to you,has longer legs than the standard 150mm, each one being 300mm so you could cut it down.

If you get this sorted, are you doing a guide?

Hi. I'm looking to do this mod to my car. My query is what is the angle of the bend on the steel pipe. The eBay link doesn't work anymore. Thanks

Sorry just seen the rest of this thread

Would a video on changing this hose be too much to ask?

Allard now do these for the vrs on ebay at 179 with EGR delete race pipe or will do you just the bended pipe for 75. I have taken just the bended pipe and will buy the darkside small EGR delete and retain the ASV on my blt fabia. As I nearly had a runaway I wouldn't recommend removing fully the ASV and EGR.

£75 for just the actual pipe or pipe and joins / connections?

Yeh just the pipe. It arrived today but to be honest the quality is quite poor, welding isn't great dunno why they couldn't of just bent a tube and knurled the ends. Probably going to send it back

I was gonna say, I get the pipe for about £20 each bent to the correct angles and beaded...

Go to a local exhaust place and ask for one.

Hello, is it possible to use the standard couplers with this set up?

My current ones are in decent condition?

Don't want to take it appart tomorrow to find out I can't haha.

Many thanks

Ryan

for those wanting to add a bead to the pipes, found the following guide that might help with adding them to the current pipe.

Looking good mate remember when you com to fit it you need to cut a bit off the larger side of the 90 degree bend and also a bit off the bottom of the 45 degree :)

How much did you need to cut off the bottom mate? Done the top but not attempted the bottom as yet.

Sorted it now. But now I'm thinking I might get the Airtec front mount with pipewoek off eBay for £495. Going to be keeping the car for s few more years so will do front mount and EGR delete while I'm at it. So this will be for sale shortly haha.

So at the weekend I thought I'd fit my top boost pipe as everyone is aware the skoda ones are prone to boost leaks

For anyone that's interested I put together a list of the pipes etc needed to make your own also remember that the silicone hoses do need bits cutting off each end to fit hope this helps people that want to do the same :)
