Thoughts on ownership after 6 months?

Featured Replies

i picked mine up, end of september, now done 13500 miles , average consu 48.2 to be exact

car has had first service all is fine .

love the car drives great not any problems at all, apart from the usual with reversing sensors, quick wipe seems to sort them out.

i find the black wheels so easy and quick to clean, and always look great .

i find people always commenting on what a great looking car...

I forgot to add that I have had my rear wiper swapped as well as it died.

Now owned my white manual estate exactly 1 year. Bloody love it. No issues at all apart from the parking sensors. Averaging about 44mpg according to fuelly. Covered just under 4000 miles and not a drop of oil used. Mostly urban driving and I do like to use the torque now it's run in properly.

Love the acceleration, good fun car. Big test will be the first camp of the year in 2 weeks time. How much camping kit can I fit in that estate boot????

Re comments about front tyres not lasting long. I *think* the supplied rubber does not have as much tread compared to new tyres off the shelf.

I know that sounds a bit daft, although I didn't measure the tread depth when receiving my blackline, the tread didn't look the 'usual' depth.

What extras has the black line again the normal Vrs, very few black lines reached Ireland. I taught a black line had the new black interior or have they full leather?

UK spec wise the extras were leather interior, DAB, Amundsun+ satnav, rear parking sensors, black neptunes, carbon efect strips rather than polished alloy inside, plus you had partial blue tooth for your phone (not sure what you had to do apart from fit the mic, but Welsk KA boy did a thread on' how to')

Because we got DAB and satnav we lost the 6 cd changer, but got a SD card slot for mp3 tracks. No spare wheel just the gunk and compressor

Cost was exactly the same as the bog standard CR vRS, but we couldn't add any FF extras, just had the choice of 3 colours initially, manual or DSG hatch/estate though some of the later ones semed to have little 'extras' the original ones didn't like a spare

Think that was about it.....

Much like a normal Irish spec Vrs so,without the black wheels and sat nav.

Technically it didnt come with Bluetooth at all. Became known that the Amundsen + unit that they fitted to the car to allow them to provide DAB radio also had a built in BT module, just wasnt coded at the factory and consequently the OEM mic and loom werent fitted either. A quick change using VCDS and approx 40 mins to install the mic and loom and the car had BT. V slick mod that most Blackline owners have done so when these cars hit the used market they'll be marketed as having BT too.

The black trim wasnt BL specific, was a model year change.

Cars were good news here as with the UK VAT discount you were saving a good 5.5k GBP over an equivalent factory order. Only slight negatives is that Skoda UK didnt put heated seats in with the leather and the lack of BT given how easy it was to add to the car was also a bit of an oversight.

Cheers for pointing out my c**k ups! I don't have BT enabled on mine partially because I don't have the MFSW which I think makes BT more user friendly and partially because no one ever phones me :giggle: so I never really took any notice of 'how to' technicalities though I knew thanks to Ka welsh boy that it was a reasonably easy fix for those who wanted to do it.

Sorry about the trim- I thought it was just BLs that had black, but you're right they all had them in 2012.

I agree totally about the heated seats, but it wasn't a show stopper for me as I'm a thick midlander and by the time my brain gets the message my bum is warming up

Shame about the bluetooth too, my SE+ manual hatch had the MFSW, so it would have been easier to put it on all blacklines IMO, rather than just on the DSGs but there again we're supposed to be simply clever!
