Some scumbag keyed my Superb

Featured Replies

Some dickless idiot has keyed my car while it was parked at the mother-in-law's in Bracknell before we went to the wife's stepfather's funeral.

Scratch is about 6ft long, starts just outside the NS roof rail and goes all the way to the back and down the rear window spoiler. It's through to the primer/metal for the last two feet or so, and instead of a linear scratch it has small semicircles along it where the paint's been chipped away.

I'm guessing this will have to be a spray job? I'll get some touch up pen on it straight away though. Anyone know a good bodyshop in/around Guildford?

****s

It's not black is it, a previous car I owned was black and keyed twice! all my other cars have not been keyed.

Hopefully the scum bag will get there comeuppance!

Interesting, a few years ago all the black cars on our street were keyed, other colours not touched

I'm afraid unless your handy with a touch up paint (preferably mixed with some lacquer about 60-40) a cocktail stick and some wet'n'dry with a good compound and polish, a respray or indeed a smart repair is required.

I don't get what some people get out of damaging other people's things. Why do they do it? Old of my old cars got vandalised once (got a knock on the door from the police that someone had sprayed ketchup all over every car in the street) and other than the anger, I was thinking what was the point of doing that?

B@#$ards!

Hope u get it sorted mate.

My worst nightmare!! .Good luck in finding a bodyshop to do the repair. Is it going to be an insurance job? if so you will have to use one of their approved repairers which are just like production lines. Personally , if it is just paintwork I would cancel next christmas and put it to a VW/Audi approved paintshop and make sure you tell them that you have used a lot of polish on your car (if you do polish it a lot) otherwise they may not remove all the silicone where they "blow in" the colour and you may get a reaction a few weeks after painting.

Recently some ****ing **** went down the full length of our street and did over 20 cars.

Thanks all. Have done the paint and cocktail stick thing and it'll need a few more coats + sanding and then some lacquer and polishing before I can see what it's like. If it's crap then I'll get it done professionally so nothing to lose.

It was reading the stone chip advice on detailing world that got me in the mood to have a go.

Might get one of those in car cctv things, and if I park in the same place (it won't be the last time we visit the mother-in-law, even though that was my suggestion when I found the damage  ) will see if the scrote has another go. Would have to be discretely placed though otherwise it'll get nicked!

Thanks for that.

I've now done 3 lots of paint/sand/polish and I can barely see where the scratch was. Used Halfords Skoda black pearlescent paint kit, 2500 and 2000 wet and dry with fairy liquid and water followed by Autoglym paint renovator then super resin polish and it looks pretty good. There are parts where if you get the angle right you can just see it, and others where you can't see it at all.

Am tempted to try and get it all invisible soon, seeing as I can get some of it like that I ought to be able to get it all like that.

Main thing is I got it sealed before any rusting set in, but I'll be keeping an eye for any in future.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, and if you catch someone keying your car, hold onto them, PM me and I'll pop round and help you educate them.
