Fabia SE 25% offer. Is it OK?

Featured Replies

Wife impressed by Fabia when we were choosing our (my) Yeti. The current offer of an SE 1.2 at 25% discount looks very attractive. Would she be wise to proceed?

As long as you don't want one of the more peppy engine choices it's a lot of car for the money.

Thanks BF. That's what we think. But has anyone out there got any experience of the engine? Seems a bit of a sewing machine, but I assume it sips rather than drinks and herself is no Stirling Moss.

I have the SE+ with this engine. I had a 1.9 diesel before that. It is quiet enough and nippier than you might think. It will cruise at 70 fine. Real mpg around 42. Does the job for me.

Test drove today and was suitably impressed. A lot of car for the money. Taking delivery on 30 May. Herself very happy (and I get the Yeti to myself)!!!

I bought mine on this offer and I'm impressed with its overall price, equipment and performance. Only had it three weeks 43mpg recorded manually on second fill-up, onboard computer showing 50-56 mpg on a slowish journey last weekend. The engine if a bit different to my experience, but I'm getting used to its sound. Its quite nippy most of my driving is rural, not tried it on the motorway yet. Comes with AC, trip computer and full size spare wheel - so far no negatives. I'm from an era when Skoda's were a joke but most people are very impressed. Hope you enjoy the car.

Anyone know if the SE has the same oil usage issues as mentioned by VRS owners?

No oil usage problems with mine. Never had to top up in just over 10K miles. Totally different engine. Older design but far less complicated with a cam chain and not a cam belt. A lot to be said for the 'keep it simple' approach.

You won't have any oil usage problems, its a totally different engine with very little (if anything) in common.

Good on fuel if you keep it at 65 mph or under.

We have a HTP and it is great as a town car and if you are not in rush, seats are a little bit spartan on long journeys compared to the VRSs but it is a car you can own and not worry about large bills hitting you ie no turbo to go wrong.

Had our since we bought it second hand, original owner had added aircon and electric windows and central locking so quite a nice car all round.

Super cheap to insure ie Group 2 compared to th VRS's Group 30.

In the 40s mpg unless driving flat out, very quick to warm up.

So much car and pracitical for the money.

newbie here but are these the same cars that are £8445 pre reg at skoda warrington which is even better deal thanks i was considering this for the wife before ordering the monte tech

Collected wife's Fabia yesterday, losing my Honda CR-V in part exchange. So far she is delighted with it. I think I shall be safe when my Yeti arrives next month!
