Lowest mileage per annum?

Featured Replies

My car is a weekend plaything / supermarket trolley :D - because of that I've always done low mileages (most I've ever done was 7,000 in a year in my MKI Fabia vRS). However, just noticed I've only done 295 in the last month (because for the last month every weekend has included an event that involved drinking - two fortieths, going to the football and going horse racing), which is low even for me!

Who does the lowest annual mileage (I'm usually around 5,000 mark)?

  • Around 1500 in the car 12,000 cycling!

Im in the upper echelons of annual mileage but my dad has had a 56 plate A3 from new which only has 11k on the clock.

5k a year here too :)

Polo must be about 500 mile. MAX between mots!

My wife's Yeti (bought new) averages 2-3k miles per year.

She wants to keep it 10 years to get the use out of it.

Classics tend be be real low mileage cars.

My 1934 Morris 10-4 did about 100 miles last year.

My old boss asked me to sell a weekend car that had done 86 miles between 2 annual MOTs.

Bonkers

That sounds more like an Easter Weekend (only) car. Can't be good for the car.

my lowest is about 13000 and my highest 30000

Around 1500 in the car 12,000 cycling! :giggle:

My grandad has a 2007 plate VW golf which has only done 3000 miles!

Scary really, the trouble is he only drives it to Sainsburys and back, and the occasional trip for hospital appointments. He has never driven it more than 20miles in a journey. He went 15miles the other week, and we all joked that the car got warm for a change!

The car doesn't appeal to anyone else in the family, being a 1.6 FSI petrol automatic. Though it has sat in the garage for most of its life, and the battery gets a proper charge in there too.

We have thought that probably taking taxis and buses (bus passes) everywhere is probably more economically viable. Especially as Sainsburys is within a 5 minute walk.

Last year I did about 4.5k, That's my lowest ever I think - around 1k of that was done in a single week and another 1k over two weekends. 5-6k is usually my average. My highest was around 20k when I had to use my car for work.

I did some VCDS tweaks to a one year old yeti last week that had 760 miles on the clock - and 20 of those were coming to me to set the big speedo etc

:-)

My 90 year old Dad has a 4 year old Hyundai i10 with less than 5000 miles on it.

My lowest is around 6.5k I think. Not usually more than 8k though for me.

Mate of mine has a 2001 JDM Impreza WRX in his garage. Last I heard it had 35k ish on the clock and covered 85 miles between the 2011 and 2012 MOTs. Nearly 50 of those were the round trip for the MOT!

I'm not the lowest with around 5k normally, but have been doing a lot of motorway miles since hooking up with the current lady (she's not really very lady like :giggle:), running around 11k.

Zee shares her car with her mum for the time being and between them they have put on a measly 3 or 4k in the last 3 years.

Lowest I've done is about 10k between MOT's, average is around 16k

my polo gti is currently on 24400 miles, i reckon its the lowest mileage 2007 model in the country.

done 1000miles since november and i reckon annual mileage will be about 3000 miles tops

my works van however is a different matter, done 63000 miles since it was new in march 2012

I'm down to 12k instead of 30k 9 years back.

My GF's Punto only did 2000 miles between MOTs this year.

Bloke at work bought his wife a new Pug.107 in 2006 ( 56 plate) to go shopping in so she wouldn't have to catch the bus.

He brought it to work the other day for the first time to prove to me it had only done 1600 ( yes, one thousand six hundred ) miles in 6 1/2 years.

She uses it to go shopping in, it's less than a mile to the supermarket and she goes once a week, and takes her mum once a week.

She loves it and says she is going to keep it until she dies and she is only 32.....

It must have only been filled up once a year.

An old farmer friend of my dads had a Land Rover that did about 10miles in 5 years, 1mile to the MOT garage and 1 mile back!

I just bought a H reg Skoda Rapid with 38,000 miles on the clock. Daverapid has an Estelle with only 12,000 miles on the clock! Mental.

As for my own personal mileages... around 10k p/a.

My partners Yaris does about 5k a year. We normally take my Fabia as it is more economical and has more grunt and space.

SWMBOs' much loved & missed Ford Puma had 21000 miles on a 51 plate.

The purchaser rang our local garage (who have always serviced the car) to check that the history & mileage were genuine, sadly the fact that it had been looked after like a family member did not significantly boost the value......

1988 AX GT....41k (1 previous owner) purcheased by me in 1998

1981 mk1 Fiesta Bravo...25k (2 previous registered owners in the same family) purchased by me 13 months ago.

On show at Arley Hall, near Northwich tomorrow.
