What would you change?

Another example is the off road button, does it really cost £100 for a button?

No - it's all about profit.

If you don't want/need it, then don't have it and save £100.

Don't know if it has been mentioned, but my pet hate is the fiddly, 2 bob electric mirror adjustment - feels like it will break at any time. Not just on the Yeti though, as appears to be fitted to most VAG cars.

Apart from that, and the need for 10mph increments on the speedo - love it just the way it is.

  • Speed markings at 10s, not only 20s. As most UK limits are 30 and 70mph. New style Skoda badges.

  • The driver in mine - it's fecking useless.

Totally off topic but this reminded me of a hotel restaurant in New York a few years ago. The menu offered " Vegetarian Chopped Liver" and when I asked the waiter what it was he replied "If you want it order it, if you don't then don't ask"! :giggle:

Another example is the off road button, does it ally cost £100 for a button, what it does is done by software so costs nothing.

I may be wrong here but the off road button is more than just software. It also requires a something to sense the incline more than that used for the hill hold.

I have to agree with the mirror adjustment control. Yes it does feel cheap but less so than the one in my last Seat Ibiza. The thing that irks me about it is that the mirror heater is activated by it and not linked to the rear window demist that was on a timer on the Seat (and previous 10 year old Mondeo for that matter).

Correct, the "Off Road" button is NOT just a bit of reprogramming of the ECU, but also includes some additional hardware in the braking system, etc.

This fact has been stated on here many times in the past.

I second that, it is just incomprehensible to me why this needs to operate separately from the rear window demister which is much harder to forget left on, and which automatically shuts off after some time. It is very easy to forget switching off the mirror heater as there are no visual cues to remind the driver, which is just sloppy engineering in my view especially given the well-known tendency of the heater elements to fail after a while.

My 2001 Seat Leon did have the same twisty knob for mirror adjustment, but the heater elements switched on and off with the rear window demister. I can't see why VAG has taken steps backwards in this aspect...

Totally agree.

Any chance the F/L Yeti has a simpler bulb replace routine (removing front bumper/breaking sealed cap

and special replacement cover with new bulb for example?).

As it has new lights a missed opportunity if not.

I'd like to see bigger wheels on Yeti, at least same as on Tiguan.

Can you explain, please?

Can you explain, please?

what do you mean? I have seen tiguan parked near to yeti and tiguan had 235/55 R17

and yeti had 225/50 R17  wheels.

Could also be on:

215/65r16

235/50r18

255/40r19

235/55r17

235/50r18

So please explain why those sizes are better than what the Yeti has?

Correct me if I'm wrong but for argument's sake let's say 235/55 R17 would fit on a Yeti. Wouldn't that mean bigger fuel consumption? Where's the good in that? What's wrong with 225/50 R17? I find them wide and big enough already to be honest.

Only a small point but I'd like the raised boot floor and the backs of the rear seats to be covered in a plastic / rubber finish similar to that of the side walls in the boot. It would make life a lot easier when hoovering out the boot after a day out with our corgis - they would win prizes for moulting.

+1 for this, particularly as we enter the rainy season!

Any idea what size wheels RAV4s and Dacia Dusters have?

I think my old rav had 235/60/16 tyres.

Nice and comfy, great for going over supermarket kerbs. :giggle:

Quick edit: Yes that size is correct.
