The radio/cd player in my 57 plate Octavia FSI keeps turning itself off. When pushing the on button most of the time it will not turn on but if i press it continually it will come on eventually but will turn itself off after a few seconds, has anybody got any suggestions as regards fixing this problem please. TIA

I'd pull it out and check wiring for intermittent/dodgy connection , a shorting wire could be a potential fire hazard at worst and a five minute fix at best!!

Or... if wiring 'appears' to be fine then try powering up stereo out of the car(on the battery or mains - 12v power supply) , if stereo now fine then an issue with car wiring, If stereo still messing about then fit a new one ......simpilzzzzz
