it is not about speed, at Bedford the Rover was really quick on the How Fast and it wasn't the most powerful car either, set up well and a good eye for a line had the driver!

who had the 1.7 sdi Fabia estate at Bedford?  He had a great day out and  was smiling like a cheshire cat!!  After all a track day has no prize money so why do you need to be first?

Well I went over a second quicker at Bedford when I took those heavy, metal framed folding rear seats out.  So I can't talk either!

a second quicker and tried do do some of the circuit in reverse!!!!!   Seats are needed for keeping the balance lol

 

 Jabo was ok when he was at Bedford

Compared to rear Fabia seats the Yeti ones are something else!

Due to the individual folding spec they have really heavy metal frames.

I could feel the difference just pulling out of the pits!

It was more of a drift, I don't think I got past about 30 degrees before the ESP threw a wobbler and put a halt to proceedings. :(

 

Someone said that corner might be possible in 4th.

 

It wasn't!

I bet it was enough to bring a lump to the back of your shorts   and to get the attention of the crowd and to hit a cone, 200 bhp Yeti eh, you have heard the saying that power is nothing without control 

 

 I have had an idea though, maybe Yeti rear seats should sold as a handling mod for other cars, removal of seats proves handling is adversely affected.

To be honest James, going sideways doesn't bother me.

I tend to be quite focused and when it starts to drift you just start balancing and trying to get a happy medium between going where the back wants to and keeping enough steering in to keep going kind of where you want to.

 

You don't have time to think about being worried/scared.  If you did, you'd end up backwards.

 

Times like that I can see the benefit of the time I spent with the trainer at Millbrooke.

Out of three and half, we spent a whole half day going sideways!

a sixth sense, just remember at Oulton Park, Druids needs lots of respect as you get the feeling of sliding and think you have it and then the tarmac changes and you have to rethink, this will be a challenge to master with our tutor.

I bet that  electric, heated, leather memory seat in the Yeti is rather heavy...
