A top day was had by the Pasty's.

I would at this early stage in my post like to put a special thanks out to someone very special - God.

I'm not going to credit him with saving me from T-boning Karl (that was obviously down to my supreme ability to stamp on the brake pedal!) but he used his powers to do good for once and despite it p1ssing it down all day Friday it actually stayed dry!! ALL DAY!! EVEN WHILE WE WERE ON TRACK!

I have to say that Combe have done wonders with the organisation of the Action Days which helped no end.

Gate specific entrance tickets, time slot and club specific track passes, much larger efforts to keep things running on time, and managing to give people full track sessions.

I think that the 2 track sessions work well as did the fact that they were earlier in the day

Was nice to catch up with everyone and put some new face to usernames, only thing missing was Octygone and the cake.

A second thank you goes to Lee Patrick.

A man who scared himself so much with the lack of track prowess of an almost standard PD100 Fabia in the first session that he donated me his track time, his briefing wristband and his helmet for the second session (somehow i also managed to get through without being sound tested!)

It's amazing how i was all fine to not go on track until someone dangled the tiniest opportunity in front of me and i practically bit his hand off.

Was the first time the car has been driven in anger since it's turbo swap and was an ideal shake down for Oulton Park in a few weeks.

Only problem it is seems to had done "something" to my exhaust which is now blowing from somewhere under the front of the car.

Hopefully a "free system check" at Kwik-fit today will give me a diagnosis - so i can then take it somewhere proper to get it fixed! :D

To sum up a brilliant day and looking forward to the Spring one

****EDIT #1****

A third thank you to Jason for delaying his departure from the show to come and give expert advice on my new noise. The partial diagnosis was most helpful and stopped me from panicking about needing yet another turbo replacement.

Kwik-fit have diagnosed a probable dead gasket under one the EGR blanking plates fitted when we changed turbos.

That would make sense given we weren't planning on changing both ends of the EGR pipe so only bought one new gasket and used one old one.

PHEW!

CAKE, dude, my wife had made Chocolate Brownies, cup cakes, but were locked in Chris's boot. lol and they were lovely. people had some, but obviously dint get round everyone as sat here munching on a box of brownies. hmmmmmm.

A video is currently uploading, but sadly in car technology has failed. The go pro I borrowed from Richard got set to photos (my own stupidity) and my black vue only took 2 videos all day. While I was parked in a services! It didn't overlap old videos either

Know the feeling Charlie, on the first session we got moved into the pit lane and I could see the first two lanes were  full so I switched the cameras off, the next minute we were moving so thought I lost the first session. Luckily I then remembered the Blackvue so its just more than a accident camera

That's me going the wrong way!

Sorry about that,Lloyd told me about a shortcut!

Dont blame me for the weight of your right foot on a chicane :D

My Bad, I will make sure next meet I am at i walk round to everyone with them.

Great day at Combe folks. Although did not go on track great watching you guys have fun.

I blame Chris, he locked them away and ran off

I noticed my Fabia didn't seem to smoke as much as the others, maybe I wasn't pushing as hard as them?

As promised the second session

Enjoy

Great little tussle again Karl your off was much better than mine, it certainly knocked me out of the zone, and my passenger was holding on mainly with suction ha ha

Some great videos and photos.

Seems to be less of me, did I really go round that few times compared to everyone else?

Videos incoming, so you can see yourselves passing me. Windows Movie Maker is a joke. I have nothing else.

Live and learn I suppose - was great fun and I achieved my goal of beating my April best lap time of 1:36 - now down to 1:33 . See you could have had just as much fun going off in your old SE  :giggle:

Karl

Won't re-quote your whole big post Pasty, but it was pouring down here Friday, and it's been pouring down again all day today - Coombe is about 12 miles from me as the crow flies, so it's probably been horrible there all day today too!

Someone sold their soul to the devil ???

Karl

This was the anniversary (+1 week) of the SE's death lol, I mullered turbo and brakes chasing you last year !! damn KW's  :giggle:

Yeti.... Fabia & Octy Slayer   :bandit:      The whole things just looks wrong!  But it obviously is so right

I dont have any pics that arn't already on here, and my vids were not worth putting up, so I have this... quote of the day is "**** you with your lowered suspension and big wheels..." ;)

The cars that were behind me for a bit, I'll be able to do some short "chase cam" clips if you want.

I know Pete in his VRS plated VRS was with me for a fair while and another black Octy in session 2 was as well.

Petes car handles really well, when he has it mapped properly for the new turbo it will be very fast! he kept going "off boost" lol...
