Apart From my sh**e driving and my poor excuse for a car I had a great day thanks to everyone that helped me out and nice to meet a lot of you. Think I'm gonna have to spend some money now!

Best to use photobucket and tag them in  

opps tried that could not get it to work bet i put them in the wrong place now :( there in the photography section

A top day was had by the Pasty's.

I would at this early stage in my post like to put a special thanks out to someone very special - God.

I'm not going to credit him with saving me from T-boning Karl (that was obviously down to my supreme ability to stamp on the brake pedal!) but he used his powers to do good for once and despite it p1ssing it down all day Friday it actually stayed dry!! ALL DAY!! EVEN WHILE WE WERE ON TRACK!

I have to say that Combe have done wonders with the organisation of the Action Days which helped no end.

Gate specific entrance tickets, time slot and club specific track passes, much larger efforts to keep things running on time, and managing to give people full track sessions.

I think that the 2 track sessions work well as did the fact that they were earlier in the day

Was nice to catch up with everyone and put some new face to usernames, only thing missing was Octygone and the cake.

A second thank you goes to Lee Patrick.

A man who scared himself so much with the lack of track prowess of an almost standard PD100 Fabia in the first session that he donated me his track time, his briefing wristband and his helmet for the second session (somehow i also managed to get through without being sound tested!)

It's amazing how i was all fine to not go on track until someone dangled the tiniest opportunity in front of me and i practically bit his hand off.

Was the first time the car has been driven in anger since it's turbo swap and was an ideal shake down for Oulton Park in a few weeks.

Only problem it is seems to had done "something" to my exhaust which is now blowing from somewhere under the front of the car.

Hopefully a "free system check" at Kwik-fit today will give me a diagnosis - so i can then take it somewhere proper to get it fixed!

To sum up a brilliant day and looking forward to the Spring one

A third thank you to Jason for delaying his departure from the show to come and give expert advice on my new noise. The partial diagnosis was most helpful and stopped me from panicking about needing yet another turbo replacement.

Kwik-fit have diagnosed a probable dead gasket under one the EGR blanking plates fitted when we changed turbos.

That would make sense given we weren't planning on changing both ends of the EGR pipe so only bought one new gasket and used one old one.

PHEW!

Another great Castle Combe meet - my 6th one (I think). The weather was perfect I thought! We usually end up with a washout or baking heat. 

 

Thank you Richard (Bossfox) for taking me out in the Yeti after I retired my car due to iffy brakes. All I can say is WOW! As we rolled up for the track time we could see people looking and s******ing. Only one car got past us on session 2 and Richard wasn't far off starting to lap people. Afterwards a few 'yoofs' came over to enquire about what had been done to the Yeti! That man can drive...

 

Apologies to my passenger, Liam for my brakes failing two laps into my first session - They rectified themselves on the drive back!

 

It was nice to see a few new faces and to catch up with regulars.

 

I did manage to capture footage of the Yeti dramatically overtaking me and 2 other cars on the short straight between Quarry and the Esses in the first session. I'll get it uplodaded at some point.

 

Thanks Jason for organizing it again. Bring on the next one...

Do it!! No better way IMHO to get some experience of being on track in a 'semi controlled' environment
