little help understanding hybrid dyno graph

Featured Replies

I've recently bought a fabia vrs which has a turbo dynamics stage 2 pd150, fmic and custom remap and am trying to understand the Dyno graph. I know this car has been mapped to be clutch friendly as its on the standard clutch at the min. As I'm aware its standard other than the above and the 312mm brake upgrade.

Obviously ill be upgrading the clutch when this one goes, but would i benefit from anything else i can do before hand or should i leave alone until i upgrade the clutch?

Any advice welcome

Get the suspension/handling sorted and you'll be sorted till the clutch gives up..

Is there any reason why the power tails off higher up the revs, or is this just the way its mapped? Could better breathing help?

It's a DIESEL, not a petrol, therefore it's all about the midrange torque, you need to shortshift and not rev it to get the most out of it.

Not necessarily with a hybrid, they go well all the way to the red line. My old tdi hybrid hit peak BHP at 4k rpm. Standard or stage 1 remap then yes dont rev the nuts off it.

To me, that doesnt look like the smoothest map in the world?

I disagree, that graph looks healthy, good gains all the way across, flat spot at 3750 is consistent on both curves, only drops off the cliff 250 rpm earlier which is irrelevant anyway. Forget the meaningless numbers, I'd be pretty happy with that result.

Would i benefit from a pd160 intake and Decat?

Doesn't look the smoothest.

Yes doesn't look smooth, dyno vibration can cause that but I don't think so in this case.

Would i benefit from a pd160 intake and Decat?

PD160 won't make any difference, there is no intake restriction.

Decat might help a tiny bit.

Not smooth in a bad way? I'm not to sure what I'm looking at hence the thread......

just thought id put this edit of the original dyno graph up as to answer my own question really. I've always looked at the graph and seen the bhp falling off and the torque holding up to the redline, where as its been pointed out to me that's not what's happening.

this is what I should have been seeing and if I were wouldn't have started this thread.
